Vehicle description
This is a very well maintained car that has spent its entire life in South Carolina. All except the past 2.5 years it was garage kept in York SC. The past 2.5 years it has been in Charleston SC, not garage kept. This car drives very well and is very fast. It does require premium gasoline because it is a performance sports car.
We have very detailed records and dates of oil changes and other minor items that have been replaced, these are just a few of those details.
The only major service work it"s ever had done to it was the timing belt / tensioner / idler / water pump replacement at 125,000 miles. The anti-freeze and ALL of the radiator and coolant hoses were replaced at the same time, all parts were factory original parts.
All interior LED bulbs were replaced in 2013 when a few had started to fail. All indicator lights do work properly. Cruise control works well. Air Conditioning works well.
The only non-factory replacement parts used on this car is the new battery (less than 1 year old), new starter (less than 2 years old), and the alternator which was replaced on 10/31/2015. Oil and filter changes have been done religiously every 5k - 6k miles with high quality (either Castrol or Valvoline) synthetic-blend oil and Fram or Autolite filters.
Trans fluid was replaced every 25k - 30k miles with Honda ATF DW-1 fluid, was last done about 27k miles ago.
Engine and cabin air filters were just replaced. Interior was just professionally detailed. Engine compartment is very clean, has all original plastic covers and equipment. Engine runs perfectly, has much more horsepower than this car needs. Transmission works perfectly, can be shifted manually if desired.
Spark plugs were replaced about 27k miles ago.
Front brake pads were replaced, and factory original rotors were turned about 40k miles ago, still have brake pad groove depth of more than 1/8". Rear brake pads were replaced, and factory original rotors were turned about 28k miles ago, still have brake pad groove depth of more than 1/8". All 4 Bridgestone Potenza Pole Position RE-970AS tires have about 45k miles on them, still have about 3/32 of tread above the tread wear bars. The tires do have a small amount of inside edge wear despite regular front end alignments. This is difficult to prevent with direction specific tires that cannot be rotated from one side of the vehicle to the other. Front end alignment and wheel balance were checked and adjusted this week. Documentation provided upon request. Spare tire and all original tools to put it on are in the trunk in perfect condition.
Factory in-dash audio unit has 6 CD changer, cassette player, and is Sirius XM capable, just needs active subscription. This vehicle does NOT have the optional Navigation system.
Factory HandsFree Link does NOT work, has been disconnected to prevent parasitic battery drain which is a very common problem with these vehicles. An aftermarket unit was installed in February of 2016 that provides hands free calling and Bluetooth streaming which this year vehicle did not have. This car does have over 225,000 miles on it and does show some signs of its age. Here are some of the less than awesome details: The wheels have some curb rash which you should be able to see if you zoom in on the pictures of the wheels. One of them has been repaired on the backside of the wheel which is not visible in the pictures.
The leather seats have surface cracks but are still very comfortable and the front seat heaters work very well. The entry area on the drivers side has been damaged by people dragging their feet over it. The body only has one dent, it"s on the passenger side rear door where a rock or something hit it. There are some minor scratches and scuffs which I"ve done my best to take pictures of and post here. The Emergency brake handle boot does have some wear from people resting their hands on it while driving. The cup holder cover in the center console does not work. We haven"t looked into this, don"t know why. We would have no hesitation to take this car on any highway trip, have no reason to believe that it will not continue to be a good reliable fun car to drive.
We have tried to honestly describe this awesome car to the best of our abilities so you can bid with confidence. The last 5 pictures are close-ups of the minor scuffs and scratches and the one small dent in the door. Some of these will probably buff out, not be noticeable. We have a very recent CarFax report on this vehicle which is available upon request.
We have some additional items that go with this car, an almost full gallon of Honda anti-freeze, a couple of quarts of Honda transmission fluid, a touch-up pen, and a couple of other small things.
