I bought this car in Febuary of 2015 to use as a commuter car while working in the lower 48. I just wanted a reliable daily driver that would get great fuel mileage. I was extremely happy to obtain 65 miles per gallon driving 70+ miles per hour. If you stick to driving 60-65 miles per hour 70+ miles per gallon is the norm for this car. My personal best was 80.1 miles per gallon on a 350 mile trip driving the car extremely light footed and passing no cars. When I first bought the car I had no attachment to it as I am a muscle car and Big tired truck type of guy, but I grew fond of the Smart car quickly. It is awesome to be able to pull in and park virtually any where and the amount of leg room in this car is amazing. I let 6"5" 300 pound guys drive this car and they are amazed. The Turbo diesel sounds awesome and has plenty of power for an 800 cc engine. The plastic front fascia had a crack from pulling into a parking curb prior to my purchase, so I had it repaired, but I have not repainted it as I was planning to have the whole car painted orange. I have always ran Mobil 1 European synthetic oil in it and it currently has about 500 miles on The current oil. The transmission oil was changed out for Amsoil fully synthetic oil as well about 7,800 miles ago. The tires are Continentals and only have about 3,000 miles on them. The interior is in great condition with no rips or tears. I am not a smoker and bought the car from a non smoker. The engine does weep a little oil, but no major leaks or drips. The steering is tight and the suspension rides good. The front end was aligned when the new tires were installed. The car had new ABS time rings installed as they are known for cracking and I had the better aftermarket rings installed. Most parts and parts installation was done at SmartMadness in Long Beach California. They also built a complete turbo back custom stainless steel exhaust for the car. They used this car as a prototype for the CDI Diesel exhaust kits. It had a very nice mellow sound while producing better fuel economy. The air conditioning currently needs charged and the cruise control works intermittently, but I never use it anyway. If you have any question, please ask. Thanks. Jason.
