Vehicle description
Folks this is for a really rare, very mint, as new Maserati Spyder 2005 model.
Bought out of an estate auction in Florida of an Italian car collector, when purchased, car had about 2K miles on it. Original window sticker stated car price was $117K at the time.
Was ordered by the owner with all the options, deluxe black leather interior with matching yellow thread, and the Vintage Package, which comprises the front and rear grilles, retro alloy wheels, cast aluminum racing pedals, racing side vents and the retro blue gauges.
Designed by the House of Giugiaro in Italy, the Spyder is a classic image of the original Spyder back in the day. This car is essentially a Ferrari 360 under the skin, with many parts interchangeable. The engine was a base 360 design made by Ferrari for Maserati.
As you can see in the pictures, the engine is a stunning work of art in its own right. Runs every bit as good as it looks. Clean enough to eat off of, and came that way to me. The car simply sat in a collection and was ran enough to keep it stirred.
This car is essentially new. I bought for a friend who could not drive it due to his size- -6"6". I am selling because I am retiring and downsizing significantly before I move from California shortly.
The car is maintained by Roselli Foreign Car in San Jose, CA; a second generation Italian car mecca, well known and respected throughout California.
When I got the car, I installed new Vredestein tires, the same type and size as were suggested by Maserati. I had Roselli go over the car cost no object. It has new Ferrari approved oil in it.
I installed heavy duty front and rear sway bars from Formula Dynamics, as well as a Larini exhaust system, left and right sides. I kept the stock centerpiece to keep the tone just right. This means the original CATs are intact, and it passes California emissions easily.
I also installed carbon fiber shift levers for the Cambiocorsa, which by the way, works perfectly.
The car has CD deck and in-dash player. Supreme sound system option. It has NAV, but its ancient. The one issue on the interior is, and you can find on the forums, the plastic on some of the controls is "tacky" to touch. This was endemic on Maserati cars during this period. I have had most of the tacky parts replaced by Roselli.
New CoCo mats are in the car. The car has a new gel-cell battery. Lastly, re aftermarket, I had clear bra installed across the front and rear of the car, and along the lower kick panels. I had the windows removed and baked on step1 tinting done.
The car has never been in the rain, always garaged all its life. The top is as new, works perfectly. One of the most beautiful tops I have ever seen on a car. See for yourself.
The car has SkyHook suspension, works perfectly. An Italian license of MagRide, invented by Delphi and now standard on Cadillac and Corvette. Car hugs the road like flypapaper and goes like stink. Sound is killer, but not too loud.
This car is a real sleeper actually, as most people have never seen a Spyder, especially in yellow, as only 60 examples were made, according to Maserati HQ. The yellow, in my opinion, really pops in this car.
Current Maserati cars just don"t hold a candle to this generation. You will not find another Spyder is this new condition. Most have at least 20K-35 miles on them, and do not have these deluxe factory options or additions.
See for yourself. My price is very fair. Since I bought the car, I have spent over $5K on the above options and work. Consider what you are getting for under 30 grand. An essentially new Maserati. Take a look at what a Ferrari 360 would cost you, and this car has the same mill and drivetrain.
A deposit is due by PayPal on purchase, and payment by cash or cashiers check within 3 banking days. NO EXCEPTIONS.
