We are a Lotus family. We"ve been working with Lotus since they began importing these cars in 2004/05. We"ve owned 3. Still own two, the Saffron Yellow Elise for sale here, and a Lotus Exige. We previously sold one, a designated race car that we collaborated on with Lotus specifically for auto crossing in the United States. In working with them we had the car built with a limited slip differential installed at Lotus, it was considered experimental by Lotus. Custom re-valved shocks etc. We raced it to an almost National Championship in Topeka Kansas (finished second by .02). They now offer the Limited Slip Differential as a factory option on all models.
I only mention the backstory because the one we"re selling HERE has similar provenance, t he car we are selling here was intended to be a secondary race car, however in 2007 we had a baby and cars, and racing, were put on the back burner and this car was never raced. We sold our racing Lotus, but since these cars are so much fun to drive we couldn"t bare to part with both, so we kept this Elise as a car to take to Cars and Coffee events, back road day trips and the open countryside with our new child. (this is where the dealer installed passenger airbag shut off comes in). The car has been well cared for. Garage kept. Kept out of the rain. Well loved. You may notice the rear of the car has been de-badged, this is because we didn"t like the look of the factory LOTUS decal and preferred a clean look, but a new one can be easily installed.
