About this vehicle This 2005 Ford Focus is a project vehicle with updates to the exterior, interior and drivetrain. The owner has had it for 2 years. The vehicle needs work. Seller"s Notes See description Exterior Ford Focus V8! Engine For sale is a fun project that I undertook around the beginning of COVID that I do not think I will have the time to finish. I always thought the Ford Focus V8s I saw on YouTube looked pretty cool, but I was not completely sold on the front suspension/steering setups, as well as, the rear suspensions that I saw used in these cars. So, I chose to take a more traditional hot rod approach, channeling the body of the car over a frame for a 1994 Chevrolet S10. Below are some details regarding the build: Engine/Transmission: Chevy 305 and TH350 transmission(need to confirm) out of a 1977 Camaro. Required a custom distributor cap to fit under the firewall. I have video of the engine successfully starting with this setup. Exhaust: Sanderson CS11 S10 V8 shorty headers fit great. Rear of exhaust is from a 1995 Thunderbird. Still have to cut and reweld rear exits to fit. Pieces in between still need to be finalized. Rear End/Driveshaft: Independent rear suspension setup out of a 1995 Thunderbird. Fit up underneath the frame quite nicely. Driveshaft from Thunderbird was shortened to fit. The new slip yoke and U joint for the TH350 has been installed. Front Suspension/Steering: Front suspension is all 1994 S10. Steering box/setup is also maintained from the S10. I was able to utilize the stock steering column from the Focus. Both setups use 3/4" DD shaft. The S10 shaft was a bit short, so, I have one from a late 1990s Tahoe that is longer. I have purchased a heim joint to mount by the firewall to stabilize the linkage, but it has not been installed yet. The front rotors are currently sitting on blocks to mimic what the ride height should be with stock Focus tires and 2" S10 drop spindles. The drop spindles have yet to be purchased. Brakes: Front brakes are 1994 S10. Rear brakes are the disc setup from 1995 Thunderbird. Booster setup needed to be modified to fit next to the engine. A Hydroboost booster and master cylinder from an early 2000s Astro van have been installed. Hoses to the booster still need to be run. Cooling: Still have the cooling system from the 1995 Thunderbird. It utilizes a single electric fan setup. I have a stand-alone relay/switch kit to run the fan. Next Steps (high level): - Fabricate floor and firewall structure - Reinforce rear frame - Mount rear shocks, finish rear coil spring mounts. - Fabricate body mounts - Run brake/fuel lines. Install fuel cell. - Finish electrical/gauges. Should be able to use most of the Focus setup. - Reassemble body - Final step: Do donuts Download the Motors app
