Vehicle description
Selling my 2005 Ford 550 Big Horn with 86,000 miles due to mechanical issues beyond my abilities. I bought it about 4 months ago with 79,000 miles and replaced the transmission with upgraded unit because of the inherent weak points from the factory. Comes with a 100,000 mile 3 year warranty from Shiftrite Transmissions in Illinois. I bought the truck to do Hotshot Flatbed hauling and also knew of the chronic problems on the 6.0L Powerstroke engines. I planned to have the engine fully Bullet proofed by a licensed Bullet proof installer in Monroe, Ga. Unfortunately I wasn"t able to get up the funds to have that completed in time. It now has fuel in the coolant tank which is almost always cause by a crack just above the cup where the fuel injector #3 or #5 sits. This would be fixed and solved during the bullet proofing process. The other alternative is the Head repair kit from Accurate Diesel https:/ www.accuratediesel.com/shop/279.html for about $400.00 that uses a longer cup which seals the crack. I haven"t the patience or the skill to perform that particular fix, Nor haven"t been able to run enough for the Bulletproofing cost. Also, the A/C compressor clutch will not fully engage when turned on. Will need a new A/C compressor. Aside from that, the truck does run good even in it"s current condition. Once I noticed this was happening I have not driven it. Selling as is no warranty. Clean Title in hand.
