Vehicle description
2004 Volvo V40 LSE Station Wagon w/ 2.0 L turbo engine.
The car is my daily driver and took us to the beach this past weekend, but it"s getting to small for my needs and it needs some work that the next owner can do. It drives fine but for a longer-term car, a tune-up is recommended. Car provides very economic fuel consumption.
Trunk is enormous for a smaller-size station wagon. Seats are all leather in good condition; driver seat needs stitch patch, which I do before selling. Oil change is due, will do before selling.
Car is clean inside, no smoke or pets.
Specs
- 4-cyl turbo front wheel drive.
- 170 hp
- 22 MPG combined (on my highway travel on 10/09/2017 I got 28+ MPG)
- 5 speed automatic transmission, overdrive, Winter-mode
- electric sunroof
- mileage: 156,800
- Pioneer CD radio with USB/iphone connector and AUX input
- AC working fine
- booster seat in back row
- power seat, power windows
- tires and brakes in good condition (all new in 2016)
Known Issues
- Transmission needs a new gear selector switch ($100 for OEM part, DIY job, good youtube instructions available). I can do that job or discount the part costs)
- Transmission sometimes has a hard downshift from third to second
Some of a few more cosmetic issues:
- remote key doesn"t work anymore
- door handle on driver side needs a special trick to be operated
- paint shows wear, peels off in one spot (see photo)
- scratches and patches here and there
- fuel gauge is out of calibration
I have done maintenance on a regular basis, including oil change every 3-4 k (synthetic 5W-30) w/ oil filter; air filter replacement, indoor cabin filter replacement, coolant flush, brake rotors and pads replacement front and rear (2016), quality tires (Michelin) in 2016, battery (2016). Car got new drive axle shafts in 2013. spark plugs in 2014. I only bought OEM parts for replacements. The timing belt was changed at 105kmiles under previous owner. No accidents, no airbag issues, SRS problems, or ABS problems.
Please feel to write me a message for further information.
