About this vehicle This 2004 Volkswagen Touareg is an original. The owner has had it for 5+ years. The vehicle runs great and is mainly used for weekend drives. Seller"s Notes Happy to work with a shipper if you are unable to purchase in person in Houston, TX Vehicle Details I am the 2nd owner of this rare V10 TDI Touareg having bought it certified pre-owned from Ed Carroll Volkswagen in Ft. Collins, CO on September 6th, 2008. The beast had 50,296 miles at that time, and I’ve personally added the balance of 83,300 in my nearly thirteen year ownership. The car is un-modified and I’ve maintained it with a open-checkbook policy and have the nearly complete service records to prove it (see photo gallery). First, everythihng works but there are a few minor, known issues that I will highlight: 1) the button surfaces have aged and many are sticky or tacky, but all are functional and some more noticeable than others 2) The hood, when opened, is held up by two hydraulic pistons which now must need replaced because they won’t hold the hood in the up position and finally 3) The driver side view mirror doesn’t like to fold into the tucked (parked) position. I leave them deployed. For the body, as can clearly be seen in many photos, the original owner paid a handsome sum for a clear 3M protective film on the leading edge surfaces, which now is crazed with age. I’ve not attempted its removal. There has been no repaint excepting a replaced side view mirror on the passenger side (see photo, it’s the one without the protective film). When you replace these they come in primer and need to be painted. A rear tail-light lens has been replaced. Don’t mistake this for the later iteration with a reprovisioned 6 cyl. TDI passenger car engine. This is powered by the real deal, twin turbocharged, intercooled, 10 cylinder V having a dual ECUs, a displacement of 4.92L outputting 553 ft lb of Torque at 2000 rpm. I’ve bolted up all the Colorado passes and it is eye-watering. It features All Wheel Drive through a 6 speed automatic transmission and an electronically controlled air suspension system with a full 6 inches of adjustable height (see photos in the xtra high position), including electronically controlled center and rear differential lockers. The vehicle has 2 batteries, and I’ve replaced both a couple of years ago. They built the thing to compete offroad and they did it right. Oh, need an air compressor out on the road, well they give you a tap off the air system so you can fill tires and such. Incredible Interior is all leather, nicely appointed and leather is in good to excellent condition with the most wear shown on the drivers seat. It also features 4-zone climate control with some clever features. As I mentioned, I have the service records showing all the scheduled and unscheduled maintenance performed. The last 7 years has been at Das European Autohaus in Spring, TX. You can give Christian a call, he knows this vehicle well. Whatever it has needed, I’ve done it, from control arms, rod ends, glow plugs, batts, prop shaft, vacuum pumps to the normal wear items and scheduled service. During warranty period it was always dealer maintained. It has a clean Colorado title in my name, and the car has been garage kept nearly every single night and most days during my ownership. It now lives in my garage in Houston, TX and is exercised regularly but less than 3k miles have been put on the last 3 years. I’m happy to share any additional information or videos.
