A well known and prestigious Subaru Specialist just rebuilt the engine on this sweet Forester frame. I was building the car for myself, and Luckily, the fires came while the car was in the shop while the engine was apart. I loved the setup it came to me with, but with how busy I was this spring, I went too long without checking the oil, and when I took it on a drive to pick someone up from the airport, some sounds caused me to take it in. They tore down the engine and gave me an estimate around 12,000. I had them balance the engine since it was apart, and getting a fresh short block with new parts, and install the Cobb and add a few other things brought the engine build bill up to a total of 13900. I then had them Tune the engine after the break in period (about 700 miles of driving without taking it over 4500rpm, and doing as much close throttle decelerations as possible to wear the engine in both directions. Since the Tune I have only driven it a few hundred miles.
So what the Auction is for, is the fresh STi Tuned Engine in the car, the car basically comes along with it for free. With the Starting bid at $12,000 you are paying for the Freshly built Engine, Tuned and ready to romp on, or build up, and everything else is a bonus. I sure hope that I get a little more, but sometimes this is how it goes. . I spent extra on the engine because I was building it for myself to drive. The fires changed that, and I would like for someone to take this fresh engine and make it their own. I would have seriously romped on it to test out the new engine, if I was planning on having it myself, I"ll save that for whoever buys it. I have reved it out a few times since the build, and it pulls fine :) I just haven"t taken a real drive on a mountain road, and don"t intend to now I want to save that for whoever buys it.

Then I paid $400 to have it pro Tuned on a Dyno. The results were: 249 WHP 322 Torque @ 17lbs That is after it was turned down to 20psi on the turbo after the build. It was at 25psi when I first got it, I would have loved to see a dyno on it before. You can turn up the boost back up to 25PSI relatively easily as it is the same turbo on it as was before, just tuned down.
I bought this car and had some great drives in it, it handles very tight and nimble, and is quiet inside due to the previous owner replacing the seals on the windows to decrease road noise. He made various little mods to the car as such, I can"t remember them all, though that one decreasing road noise I truly appreciate. The Gauges for the Turbo and Oil Pressure are between the steering wheel and main Cluster, You"ll see them lit up in the picture that shows the Odometer. The airbag light is on, and the shop said it is linked to a sensor in the seat, I forgot to have them look into it when it was in there last. The scratches on the rear passenger side bumper, the previous owner said it was a minor parking lot incident. The frame and body are in good condition, and with the Aftermarket Suspension and the STi break system he put on, it is a Sure pleasure to drive.
