Up for auction is a 2004 Saturn Vue V6 Four Wheel Drive that I hate to see go. I originally purchased this car with the intention that I"d put a lot of work into it and take it back and forth between Big Bear and the Colorado River. But I times are a little rough and plans have changed. This Saturn Vue is in pretty good shape - My loss, your gain!
Outside, the condition is overall rather good. The paint is in great shape.
Inside, there are some cosmetic issues that could be addressed, or ignored. In general, things look real good. The hood pull is loose, so you need to pull the chord instead of the handle. The panel under the dash is loose and hangs down. one seat belt is missing. the cup-holders are sticky. little things.
Under the hood, things are a little tricky. The car runs very well and only needs a few things to get it in tip top shape. - The Ignition Column needs replaced. This was a factory recall on this model and is a very cheap/easy fix. If you lock the steering wheel after you remove the key, it locks up and is very tricky to get started. $1oo trip to an auto shop and it won"t be a problem. Starts up just fine, so long as you don"t lock up the wheel.
- The Catalytic Converter needs replaced. This was supposed to be a rather quick and easy job. But there seems to be a shortage of parts right now. My mechanic said that these typically go out of stock for short periods of time. and would likely be available if we weren"t experiencing this pandemic. The part is about $1,ooo and it isn"t a very complicated job if you"ve got the parts and tools. If anyone has a Catalytic Converter for this car laying around, then this is the auction for you! I have registered this car as non-op until this can be fixed.
- I know these aren"t exactly under the hood. but this car definitely needs new tires. - The AC also needs recharged. It runs alright, but not ice cold.
A few good facts to mention: - Just paid the registration fees. it"s registered non-op because of the Catalytic Converter. but the title is clean. - Never been in an accident.
- Just replaced the windshield last week. - Just replaced a sensor in the front/left. - CD Player/Radio/Speakers work great.
- My mechanic said that if this the Catalytic converter were in slightly better shape, or if this car were in another state, that it would pass smog with no trouble at all. - This car has a nice TV with Audio/Visual Inputs and an AC Outlet for a DVD player or video games. I am starting this auction at a low price. I have put over $6oo into this car in the last month alone. I wish I could keep it - but it needs to find a good home. - The Four Wheel Drive really comes in handy while driving in the rain, snow or off road!
