In 1964, MINI won the famous Monte Carlo Rally. Forty years later, in February 2004, MINI unveiled the Mini Cooper S MC40 edition, built to commemorate the historic Monte Carlo victory. Only 1000 were ever built, and each individually numbered. This is #861/1000
This is a rare, clean example of a MINI Cooper S MC40 that has been refreshed to be a showcase of its original driving experience. This car, and all the work done, has been featured on a popular automotive television series.
A thorough 100,000 mile service was just completed that included: Replacing all fluids, new O2 Sensor, gaskets, serpentine belt, water pump, ignition coils and wires, and spark plugs. Additionally, the supercharger was serviced with new supercharger oil, bushings, and gaskets.
Under the hood, it is powered by its original Single Overhead Cam 16-Valve Supercharged and Intercooled 1.6L Inline-4 Cylinder. The engine is mated to a six speed manual transmission. Completely unmodified with the exception of a Milltek Sport cat back exhaust to improve the sound of the motor while not having excessive drone.
Brand new clutch and flywheel, new brake pads/rotors, new fuel filter, new headliner, brand new MC40 decals and magnets, new emblems, new core support, new headlights, new struts, springs, and shocks at all four corners.
Brand new Continental tires are outfitted to the car as well.
This is a California car that runs and drives like the day it was driven off the showroom floor.
