Vehicle description
This is a beautiful 2004 SL500. It has always been garaged and stored during the winters. It is a non-smoker car with very low mileage. It drives great and the automatic top operates seamlessly.
Besides regular maintenance, two common problems have been recently addressed: the shift-lock mechanism has been repaired/upgraded (by the dealer) and the glove box cable re-adjusted.
Known issues: center console operates but does not lock when you lock the glovebox, the driver"s cupholder remains in the closed position, the bedazzle in the driver"s mirror has faded, the rear-view mirror could be tightened (although it does not shake when driving at all). The trunk struts ($25) are original and don"t support the trunk"s weight like when opening. The car"s antenna stub was recently unscrewed and while I may order a new one, assume one is still needed.
Also, while there is no known rust, the paint is not perfect. I tried to capture the issues in the photos. There are minor scuff marks and an instance of clear-coat peeling. With that being said, most of the car"s paint is in great shape.
An aftermarket rear distance sensor system has been installed and works well.
There is local interest, so please be aware I may remove this listing at any time.
