Vehicle description
About this vehicle This 2004 Land Rover Range Rover is an original. The owner has had it for 2 years. The vehicle is drivable and is used as a daily driver. Vehicle Details 2004 Range Rover HSE, rare Alveston red with a beautiful sand color interior. The interior leather is in amazing shape, the exterior body is in decent shape, not a show winner but nothing to be embarrassed about. The engine is a BMW M62 engine 4.4L, Automatic transmission, xenon headlights and a Harmon Kardon sound system. I'm a huge fan of the Range Rover BMW engine and L322 body style, I own 3 currently and would like to sell this one to someone who loves these and wants to preserve these beauties. Perhaps another member of the Rover fan club? Selling with NO RESERVE and I'm hoping someone can save some money on this Rover and put it into the truck. I do reserve the right to end the listing at anytime because I also have it posted locally for sale. The good: 113,942 miles. I did not drive the truck very much as I had spinal surgery and was driven in a van everywhere. The Range Rover has been in an enclosed storage. I bought it a few years ago and basically did an entire brake job with new slotted and cross drilled rotors with HD brake pads with new fluid. This truck is very heavy but with the upgraded brakes it has excellent stopping power. I have never smoked nor eaten inside the Rover. The truck drives and shifts well for its age and size. The Range Rover has a brand new K&N lifetime air filter. The Pirelli tires have tons of tread left and are in road worthy condition, I didn't change the tires out. The battery and starter are strong and all the interior lights and xenon headlights work. Heated seats in the front and back work. Heated steering wheel works as do the front and rear windshield defrosters. Sun roof motor is strong, opens and closes. Windows are all in good operable condition with no problems. Wiper blade motors are all in excellent condition and operate great. Comes with a clean green Michigan title with a full owners manual and keys. The bad: Since I've been injured I have not done anymore repairs on the truck. I'm fanatical about these trucks and making them better for a daily driver. The Rover needs a full tune-up. The truck runs rich and is ticking for an over compensation on the timing. I recommend NGK Iridium IX spark plugs. It will throw on a service engine light as the timing is off and I'm nearly positive that the timing chain guides need a new kit installed also. Needs a new fuel filter that has to have a fuel pressure regulator inside. I recommend WIX or Mahle. Needs an oil change. I recommend 5w-30 full synthetic Ineos 3 Total oil, or any full synthetic European formula. I'm including a new thermostat with the car as the heat inside really doesn't turn on. I just didnt have a chance to install the part. I would change out the belts as well if you are going to change the thermostat too. I recommend Continental brand belts. A full wheel alignment is due, 4 wheel drive. The truck needs premium fuel any octane between 90 and 92 is great to prevent pinging. I've used Sunoco 91 Premium from when I first received the truck. Fresh gas and a fuel cleaner would really help out also. I recommend Liqui Moly fuel cleaners and valve cleaner. There is a small surface rust spot on the top tailgate, very small about the size of a dime or penny. I've attached that photo. Small scratch on the front quarter panel, I received the truck like that. Also seems there was a rear quarter panel dent in the wheel well area, again I received the truck like that and please see attached photo. The dashboard instrument cluster has LCD screens that show the mileage and other info, these do get pixelated after so many years, but there is a kit to replace that screen, not difficult but nevertheless an addition to the laundry list of tasks to be done. The radio screen seems to be suffering the same with pixelation too, this all come with age. The replacement screens are available as they are made by Sharp and pretty easy to replace if you have the ability. I would replace the passenger side view mirror also, I'm picky and these trucks are to have motorized side view mirrors that can be retracted to help in tight parking situations or car washes. I would also order a valve cover gasket kit with new grommets. These M62 BMW engines really need those replaced at around 100k miles. As there seems to be some spotting of oil leaking from the right side engine valve cover area. _ _ _ _ _ _ Although, the Rover is very much drivable in its condition, I'm a meticulous person and I really don't get full enjoyment out of my cars until I have fixed every little dumb thing. Again, these trucks are approaching 20 years old and whilst it may seem like a lot of work, these trucks will serve you well if you take care of the small things and give them respect on important mileage repairs.
