Vehicle description
Please read the entire ad, this Discovery has issues.
I"m a small time dealer and charge no additional fees. The price you bid is the price you will pay. I am required by law to collect sales tax if you are in the following states: Ohio, Arizona, California, Florida, Indiana, Massachusetts, Michigan or South Carolina. All other states will be required to to pay sales tax at their local DMV. I am moving across state lines and this is the last vehicle in my inventory.
2004 Land Rover Discovery 2 SE7, just over 108k miles. Giverny Green over Alpaca Beige leather interior. This Land Rover has 2 Main Issues. A cylinder 5 misfire at idle, and an exhaust leak at the passenger side manifold to y-pipe connection.
Misfire: This Discovery was running & driving well when it came into inventory. It had a CEL code indicating the fuel injector o-rings needed to be replaced. The o-rings, plugs, wires, & coil pack were replaced. After this, a cylinder 5 misfire occurred. New injectors, plugs, wires, & the original coil were replaced with no change. A compression test on cylinder 5 shows 165 psi, held for 10 minutes with no leak or change. It is suspected that there is an issue in the wiring to the fuel injector or coil causing this misfire. Under normal driving there are zero issues and no noticeable misfire. The buyer should consider replacing or repairing the wiring harness.
Exhaust Leak: The catalytic converters were stolen while this sat waiting to be diagnosed. A used y-pipe was installed, but 2 of the 3 studs on the passenger side exhaust manifold are spinning freely. Only 1 bolt is holding the y-pipe to the manifold, so there is a loud leak. The buyer will need to remove the manifold & replace the 2 studs.
Aside from these 2 main issues, the Land Rover is in good overall shape and everything works. A replacement front driveshaft was installed with greaseable fittings (common issue on this model), new idler/tensioner pulleys & belt. Good Nitto tires (the right rear looks flat in the photo, it"s not, just grass grown around it).
The dash is curled up at the base of the windscreen, sagging headliner, small crack in front bumper, and there is a small dent in the roof above the windscreen(both photographed).
While this is a running & driving Discovery, it is recommended the buyer tow this due to the leak. Shipping to be arranged by buyer, I can help on my end.
