Offered for your consideration is this exceptionally clean 2004 Ford F450 XLT Chassis Cab with custom built utility bed. This was ordered new by the original owner who is now offering it for sale. It was originally built for a slide in camper rig that could pull anything and go anywhere. It has lived an easy life over the last 17 years only traveling just over 78,000 miles on the 6.0 motor and six speed manual transmission with precise regular service. This truck is pre DEF
Complete service records and receipts accompany the truck with this sale. As stated above the truck has lived an easy and pampered life while doing its fair share of hard work. It has never been tuned or modified to produce extra power because it simply doesn’t need it. This being said the motor has never had an issue that some have experienced from tuning and pushing the 6.0L. The Edge CST monitor always shows a delta less than 15. Please see photo of truck at cruising highway speed with deltas in range. In addition a Banks intercooler and pipes, Banks exhaust system, and coolant bypass and filter system have also been added.
As for the interior, the tan cloth seats have been covered since new and reflect a like new appearance underneath the seat covers. All power windows and door locks work as they should. All weather mats have protected the carpeting very nicely. You will not be disappointed with the quality of the interior it’s as new as it could be for a 17 year old truck. The headliner is as it was new as well as the dash having also been covered since new. Also adorning the interior is a fantastic Kenwood 9000 series stereo and sub including satellite and navigation capabilities.
As for the chassis, I’ll mention again this is a 450 chassis cab with 15,000 GVW so it is the beast and commercially rated but has the CA RV/Private use exemption. A list of chassis modification include: Rancho steering stabilizer, Redhead steering gear, Tekonsha trailer brake control, custom dual rear overload springs by atlas spring company, front and rear 1-1/2” Roadmaster sway bars, Rancho 9000 series shocks. Factory 40 gallon aft fuel tank as well as an additional 20 gallon midship fuel tank give this truck 60 gallon fuel capacity.
The custom utility bed was commissioned by the seller and built by Douglas Service Bodies in Bakersfield CA. It was designed in a low profile manner to accompany the slide in camper but would serve a fifth wheel set up well as it is the height of a regular bed and not high like traditional utility boxes. The box features a full factory size spare tire in a side compartment and a custom 30 gallon water storage tank in the front area of the bed.
