I am only the second owner of this vehicle, purchasing it in August 2018 from friends of our family, never driven in the rain and always garaged. It was their baby, and they loved driving it around and showing it off.
Every part is OEM on this car with zero modifications.
THE BAD NEWS : According to owners that are subscribers to the site SSRFANATIC, they report that these cars were built with some components that either wear out prematurely, or break. The result of this would leave you stranded by the roadside.
THE GOOD NEWS : I had my mechanic perform the necessary repairs that were reported before any problems surfaced on mty SSR (receipts available) : New improved AFTERMARKET (improved) RADIATOR FAN - - NEW BUSHINGS FOR SHIFT LINKAGE (both ends) - - NEW HEAT SHIELD FOR ABS BRAKE CONTROLLER - - GAUGE CLUSTER REMOVED AND SENT FOR REFURBISHMENT - - DRIVE BELTS REPLACED - This preventive work cost nearly $2,000.00.
Of course I had regular oil changes done as well as radiator flush, brake fluid replaced and AC service. .all the things you would do if you wanted a reliable vehicle that performs and drives as new.
I have only added 6k miles since purchasing the SSR, and have always garaged. I"m using Chemical Guys Lava Luminous Glow paste wax and the paint is gorgeous. The motor bay is spotless, the interior is beautiful (with normal wear on the driver"s seat). There are no tears or carpet stains.
FLAWS :There are two small rock dings in front of the hood, and the windshield has a small chip between the driver and passenger side but it does not interfere or obstruct vision. The volume button on the steering wheel shows signs of wear as well as the button on the radio itself. These flaws were there when I bought it.
For a 2004 with low miles this is a beauty. I hate to sell it but I have some other financial obligations. I hope that you enjoy this guy as much as I have. .it’s a real head turner!
