Vehicle description
Up for sale is a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta GLI VR6 24v in simply AMAZING condition. I am the 3rd owner (Autocheck is incorrect, and shows the 1st owner twice), the 1st having purchased it in Dallas, TX where it has stayed it"s entire life. The 2nd owner drove it less than 3000 miles before I purchased it. Since I"ve owned it, it"s been babied, and simply used as a daily driver to work and back. I also added a few OEM exterior parts to make it a clone of the European Bora 4Motion, my favorite MKIV, sadly never sold here. Please see the list at the bottom to see all the work and attention spent on this car.
Exterior condition:
Being a Dallas,TX car it"s entire life, it has ZERO rust anywhere, and I mean anywhere. The area behind the front wheel wells is perfect, as is the underbody. The exterior is in very nice shape, including the original Galactic Blue Pearl paint. The only area not original is the rear bumper, due to an accident during the 1st ownership. Unfortunately, it looks like the new bumper was tapped once again, and the paint "spidered." Not noticeable past 5-10 feet, but there. Otherwise, the factory clearcoat shines VERY well, with only a few scratches and a couple door dings which could probably be pulled out. The car is washed and waxed regularly, and "quick detailed" in-between. When driving my other vehicle, it stays in the garage.
Interior condition:
Near mint. Main headliner is perfect. Sunroof slider has a little bubbling, but not sagging. Leather seating is in very good shape. Very minor wear on driver"s seat. Bolsters are still very good. Door cards are excellent. ALL soft touch plastic trim has been replaced with new OEM pieces. The driver"s side rear door lock/latch assembly needs to be replaced (in hand). Door still opens and locks manually. I have replaced the latch assemblies in the other 3 doors with genuine VW units, and they all work perfectly. Otherwise, all other features and electronics work including cruise control, wipers, heated seats, heated mirrors, ESP (traction and stability control), rear defrost, defog, heat, COLD A/C (blend doors repaired inside HVAC box), power auto up/down windows, trunk and gas door switches, original Monsoon speakers/amp (sound great), and all interior lighting. Will come with the original Monsoon head unit installed, but is pre-wired for Blutooth in the OEM location in the dome light. Never smoked in.
Mechanical condition:
Meticulously maintained. Carfax shows continuous service performed at VW of Richardson and Park Cities under the 1st owner. Since I"ve owned it, I"ve performed all the work listed below with genuine VW parts when possible. I"ve also flushed the oil with Liqui-Moly engine flush, and performed a Seafoam cleaning. Afterwards, oil was changed to Liqui-Moly 5w40 Synthoil Premium and new Hengst oil filter. Engine leaks and burns no oil. Secondary air pump is still installed and functions perfectly on cold starts. 6 speed transmission shifts smoothly with no input shaft noise. Driven daily to work and back (14 miles a day) and is a blast. New state inspection done 10/21. Comes with 2 key fobs, and all owners manuals. Will also include a Bentley service repair manual for the car if desired.
