Vehicle description
GMC Quadrasteer Sierra/Denali 144,600 miles
Quadrasteer (All-Wheel steering), there is nothing like it on the market, since they stopped making them.
The Quadrasteer model was only made 2002-2005. It was a great idea, but GMC priced them $7,000 more than the regular model. They put everything into it from a design, functionality and option perspective.
I bought it to tow an airstream for the following reasons: It
*Will tow a max 10,000 lbs. It has a transmission cooler and electronic braking controller.
*In 4 wheel steering mode, the 18.5 foot turning radius is 5" less than the average pick-up. It is similar to the turning radius of a Honda CRV. It does this by making the rear wheels turn in the opposite direction of the front wheels.
*In addition to the short turning radius, at high speeds the 4-wheel steering system makes the rear wheels turn in the same direction as the front wheels increasing stability and control.
*Looks fabulous, the rear is wider than the front, note the sculpted lines. Plus they added lights on top of the cab and on the sides.
The interior is like a Cadillac. It has leather and all sorts of electronics, but I especially like the down lights on the outside mirrors that light up the ground where you open the door.
This is the 2003 extended cab model. with the 6L V8 with 325 HP
One reviewer on Kelly Blue Book noted on 10/24/2019, "These are by far the most reliable - used trucks you will find on the market. Don"t buy an 07 or newer, too many mechanical and electrical problems. GM has not been the same since the 03-06 Trucks. Ultra reliable, easy to get parts, timeless body style, great work horse. . "
It has only 144,600 miles. I bought it at 134,000 miles, I had the front and rear differential and power distribution box rebuilt.
I downsized my trailer, and sadly don"t need so much truck.
