Vehicle description
2002 Toyota 4Runner SR5 ! PARTS CAR/MECHANICS SPECIAL!
* PLEASE READ CAREFULLY *
THIS TRUCK WILL NEED TO BE HAULED AWAY. BRING YER TRAILER.
IT STARTS WITH JUMPER CABLES BUT WILL ONLY DRIVE AS FAR IT TAKES TO GET ON THE BACK OF A TRAILER.
If you are looking for a quality parts car that you can use toward your own 4runner rebuild or you are a MASTER mechanic and want to attempt a resurrection then this is the truck for you!
A little bit about the truck. .
It was my barely daily driver up until the transmission went out. It has multiple issues including:
1. The transmission sounds like a bag of nickels in a garbage disposal. 2. It leaks every possible fluid from every conceivable location. 3. It smokes like a signal fire due to oil dripping onto hot exhaust manifold. 4. The dash is lit up like a Christmas tree (see photo) with indicator lights. 5. The rear shock is completely blown so when you hit the slightest bump it sounds like shaking chains. 6. The power steering pump is bad so it"s turns like a Spanish Galleon in a tropical hurricane. 7. The passenger side bumper is damaged when a dim witted teenage deer did not look both ways before crossing the street. 8. The driver side tail light is crushed when a dim witted middle aged man backed into a light pole. 9. And probably countless other problems I have just failed to uncover.
Long story short, it"s got 320,000 miles on it. It"s a beat up old nag who served us well.
But there is always a silver lining. The good news:
1. There is very little rust on the body for a truck that has seen countless Ohio winters. 2. The interior survived 5 young boys, a large dog and a coffee spilling father fairly well. 3. The frame is straight and relatively rust free (see photos) 4. And lastly it does still start, run and drive. Horribly.
Thanks for looking and good luck.
