Vehicle description

I truly love this truck. I bought this truck on in 2008 with ~45kmiles. First owner was an older couple inAZ that used it to go see their horses 2x a day. A local fire chief owned it briefly but hiswife didn’t want a stick shift. Then it’sbeen my daily driver, lumber hauler, and family outing transportation sincethen. I’m only selling because everybodyquit making stick shifts and I’d rather start with something newer if it’sgoing to be my last one. My timing wasterrible, and I decided to upgrade during the worst used truck market indecades. I replaced this one with a similar2015 Ram, and I already miss a number of things about my trusty old Chevy. ( lower height, smoother ride, better fuel economy, shorterclutch pedal travel, shorter length, more comfortable armrests). Basics · 2002 · 202k miles (mine since ~ 45k miles in 2009) · Crew cab, long bed · Stock 6.6L Duramax (LB7) · ZF S6-650 Manual transmission · 4wd · VIN: 1GCHK23152F193761 Good · Records include o MPG from ~ 45k – 175k o Maintenance from 45k – present o Oil analysis from 45k - present · Incredible fuel economy – I averaged 22mpg overthe 130k miles I tracked it o Yes, that’s real, though I’ve learned sometricks for driving efficiently o I’d expect normal people to get more like 20mpg– still great and better than anything else you can find with an 8’ bed. · Drivetrain is in great shape o Factory injectors replaced at 80k. Fuel in oil checked at lab atevery oil change – no issues since then. I have no idea how long they will last, but for now they seem healthy. o Transfer case did have pump rub issue, but wasreplaced with reman unit from Merchant Automotive thathad permanent fix installed o Dual mass flywheel failed at 120k – replacedwith solid flywheel from South Bend Clutch · Has not been worked hard at all o Daily driver o Mostly back roads and interstate o I’ve never towed, plowed, raced, or off- roaded with it o No chips, tunes or other performance mods · Body in good shape for the age o Spent first 6 years or so in AZ o I had rustproofed & undercoated when Ibought in 2008 o All new brake lines a couple years ago · All these are included if you want them (andshipper allows it, if shipping) o Full set of factory repair manuals o Winter covers (upper and lower) o 4” turbo back exhaust I bought as a spare incase original rusted out – it never did o Replacement cloth seat cover I never installed o My remaining stock of oil filters, trans oil,and coolant o Scangauge II – seepics. Displays various engine parametersfrom OBD port Bad · If you use defrost, the air door will be stuckin that position until you reach under the dash to move it back. Other positions work fine. · Few drips of oil from (I think) rear main crankseal. It doesn’t leak enough that you’dever have to top off, but it will make spots on the driveway or garage floor. · Broken plastic bezel around power window switchon rear left door · Speaker(s) blown. Fine for news radio, music does not soundgreat. · Might want new batteries if you’re in a coldclimate. With good batteries it canstart unaided down to 0F. It’s got ablock heater and oilpan heater if you need to gocolder than that. The truck sat a lotduring COVID shutdowns and I’ve had to jump it if it sat a week or so withoutrunning. After a few jump starts, Iwouldn’t count on a 0F start next winter if the batteries aren’t replaced. Ugly · Paint issues o Peeling on roof w/ rust o Peeling on small spot on driver’s door, withlousy attempted repair o Multiple rock chips on hood · Metal issues o Rear bumper hit a tree once after sliding onice. It curled in and damaged the nearby sheetmetal also. o Multiple small dents/scratches on sides fromprevious owner’s horses o Rear right door is slightly bent and now sealspoorly. § Fine in light rain, few drips in a storm, bringa towel if you go through a car wash o Bed has been used to haul things (imagine that!)so it shows scratches. o Exhaust pipe is bent a little between mufflerand tailpipe. The only problem I’m awareof from this is that I’ve had to replace one of the rubber exhaust hangersbecause it’s stretched a bit farther now. · Plastic issues o Both mirrors have met immovable objects and showthe scars o A big chunk of the left bed rail protector ismissing o Bent/mangled trim piece near hinge of centerconsole o ½” crack in grill near driver’s side headlight Buying process If you’re looking specifically for a stick shift, you’reprobably looking nationwide. There’ssome extra hassles buying from far far away, but itcan be done. Here’s what I can do tomake it a bit easier: · I’m doing my best to describe the truck fairly. I’ve driven 7 hours before to buy a truck andbailed out when I saw it because it was in such bad shape. I won’t do that to you. · I’ll respond to questions as quickly and as thoroughlyas I can. If you want pics of somethingspecific, just let me know. · You can arrange for someone to come inspect thetruck on your behalf – either a buddy of yours or a hired service. (I used LemonCheck recently when Ibought the Ram and was happy with them). I’m working from home most days, and can be somewhat flexible aboutscheduling. I plan to ride along duringtest drives, but will let your inspector drive if they want (and are comfortablewith stick). · After winning the auction: o Put a deposit on your credit card within 24hours so I know you’re committed. o If you’re buying in person, come by with acashier’s check for the balance and I’ll give you keys and the title. o If you’re buying remotely, then send a cashier’scheck and arrange your own shipping. Iused uship.com when I bought this truck on 13 years ago, but there’sprobably some other options now. I caneither send the title with the truck or fedex it toyou – your choice.
