Vehicle description
*Click on vehicle photos for full resolution* Backstory: I bought this car for $3000 a month ago, and drove it for a few weeks. Recently, the engine randomly shut off, so I had the car towed to my house. A mechanic who is a friend of mine installed some new parts at my house, but was unable to get the car to start. It can probably be fixed by a quick trip to the auto shop, but I no longer have the time, energy, or money to fix it, since my college courses have started.
Brand New Parts:
4 Tires ($600)
6 Ignition Coils ($120)
6 Iridium Spark Plugs ($40)
Battery ($120)
Poly-V Serpentine Belt ($25)
Fuel Filter ($25)
*None of these prices include labor cost from my mechanic, which totals to more than $600 on all part installations*
Pros:
The car is absolutely smooth to drive, with amazing suspension, and is surprisingly quick (it has Sport Mode). The resonators from the stock exhaust have been replaced with a professionally welded x-pipe, so the car has a nice low rumble that is noticeable but not too loud. Handling is amazing, thanks to the AWD from the A4’s Quattro package. The headlights are aftermarket and make the car look so much more modern and aggressive. The spare wheel is actually a fully usable, normal size rim and tire, so the car essentially comes with 5 great wheels. The car has always been stored in a garage. It is definitely worth repairing this car to drive it, I just don’t have the time or money with college going on. My loss is your gain.
Cons:
Small dent on passenger side hood, so the right headlight is loose.
Windshield wipers are always on unless the fuse is removed (which is easy to do)
Paint on front and rear bumpers is cracked, only noticeable up-close.
Driver"s side front window and passenger"s side rear window do not roll down.
Cabin floor can get damp after a rainstorm.
The wheels were plasti-dipped by the previous owner, and the black dip shows signs of wear. (It could be left alone, redipped, or taken off to show the stock silver rims.)
I’ve put over $1,500 of parts/labor into this car, so it is well worth buying it just for the parts. If you are handy with cars, you should have no problem fixing it, but it will need to be towed or trailered from my house. There is a UHaul 1.5 miles from my house with trailers that you can rent for roughly $30.
Feel free to give me a call, email me, or come and see the car yourself.
