Vehicle description
For Sale $860/OB offer - a 2001 Volvo V70 T5 Wagon with 160,000 miles(140K were highway miles.) The auto is in excellent condition, however it"s automatic transmission just started slipping. My mechanic says the car is an excellent candidate for a rebuilt transmission because it is solid mechanically and runs very well. After a long decision process, we have chosen not to repair the vehicle because we no longer need a wagon. We purchased the Volvo new from Smythe European in San Jose when my wife worked for the dealership. It was maintained by that dealer for 9 years before my wife took a new job. Since then it has been maintained by Specialized auto and A&E Motorsports in Santa Cruz. (You can call my mechanic at A&E Motorsports to confirm the condition of the car.). It has never missed a scheduled service maintenance date and most were performed by a Volvo dealership.
Besides having the rear bumper replaced from a stop and go mishap the car has never been in an accident and has been very well cared for. It"s very clean inside and out and if it did not need another transmission we would not be selling it at this time. It was the top of the line V70 wagon in 2001 with almost every available option added including leather interior. It averages 21 miles per gallon, and gets 24 on the highway. I also have two extra tires, if your interested. All the door dings were removed two years ago.
There are a few electrical issues that have popped up over the years which include:
The Driver"s side window works intermittently when the car is running(if the car is not running it works perfectly - haven"t figured out that one but was told it"s the door switch module.)
Stereo functions well but occasionally when it is hot it doesn"t want to eject a CD. It will, once it has cooled down.
I believe the drivers side heated seat stopped working this year, I don"t use it and I haven"t confirmed this yet.
The info system says the Alarm system is malfunctioning and needs to have a control module replaced, occasionally the left rear door does not lock from the remote command fob - this could be related to that module.
Other than these issues there are no other electrical problems.
A few years ago I had the windshield replaced and the service tech used some inferior clips to reattach the window trim. I purchased new OEM clips from Volvo but have not gotten around to swapping them out because I was going to replace the trim pieces too. When I inherited the car from my wife, I replaced the front grille with an aftermarket blacked-out grill, I have the original OEM Volvo grille still.
The Volvo is a blue/green color with light grey interior.
Look at the images to get a feel for the condition. The carpets and vinyl fittings are almost perfect, some of the leather on the seats shows signs of wear.
I WILL NOT SELL TO ANYONE OUTSIDE OF THE US, WITH LESS THAN 25 FEEDBACK SCORES, OR WHO JUST REGISTERED ON EBAY. SERIOUS BIDDERS PLEASE.
