Vehicle description

Hello- I am selling my 01 Mercury Grand Marquis. I bought this from my friend in March who"s brother died in February. The car was originally from Rockland Co NY. It was up here for about 10 years then the owner moved to Florida. The car was in FL for about 10 years. where it was garaged. The paint looks new. The original owner bumped into a few things so he cleaned up the bumpers in a few spots with spary paint. I was going to have the bumpers repainted but I decided to sell the car because I have 6 cars now (too many). The bumpers look OK but the rest of the car looks like new. If you toughed up the bumpers properly the car would look pretty new considering its age. The original owner loved the car. He installed a white vinyl top because it must have been hot in Florida. He also added limo style courtesy lights on the side which give it a limo style. He also added chrome fender skirts and added a Lincoln hood ornament. He really liked the car. It was garaged kept in Florida and was always kept really clean. The front speakers were upgraded with poly speaker cones with dome tweeters I think the springs and shocks were also upgraded because it rides more like a luxury sports car rather that a mushy Grand Marquis. ( I had a 92 Grand Marquis and a 97 Crown Vic. These rode a little mushier than this car). I spoke to Ford and they said the spings look new and they might be the P71 Police Interceptor springs). The car rides great for a bigger car. I recently replaced the fuel filter, oil change, PCV valve, air filter, belt, belt tensioner and idler wheel and thermostat and sealer, thermostat housing and upper radiator hose. I changed the antifreeze and added some stop a leak to stop the minor leak at the thermostat. I also changed the driver side door switched because from never using the rear and side switches they didn"t work very well (they work great now). I also replaced the hood release cable because that was sticking a little (works great now). The only thing that I didn"t tend to was the power pedal mechanism. It seams to only move a 1/4 inch. My other Grand Marquis and Crown Vic doesn"t have this option so I didn"t bother. Its almost a useless option anyway. Its really a nice car. If you are local come for a test drive. Thanks,
John Feane
