Vehicle description
Very nice 2001 e320 wagon with hard to find mileage under 100,000 miles. This vehicle has 82,675 current miles. First things first, this wagon’s engine and transmission run and operate very well. It shifts smoothly and idles very smoothly. It accelerates very well. There are no stutters or hiccups. Plugs and wires were replaced less than 3500 miles ago. Oil changes were performed every 3500-4000 miles with mobil1 full synthetic and an OEM oil filter from the dealership. Crank position sensor was replaced around 10000 miles ago. Cabin and engine filters were changed out around 5000 miles ago.
All matching Michelin tires still have many miles left in them I’m going to say they have around 35% tread life left. Brake pads were replaced recently. There are no shakes or shimmies under braking or while cruising. Front shocks and rear accumulators were replaced last year. This car drives smoothly.
The body is 100% rust free. Exhaust and underbody look extremely clean. There is no rust under there either. Paint has been clayed compounded in three stages and sealed with chemical guys products. I was rather surprised to see the results of all of the elbow grease that went into the process. Yes, there are dings and scratches still visible in he paint but the car just glows in the sunlight. There are two rather large scratches just behind the drivers door on the rear passenger door that was repaired but is still visible. The top of the rear bumper is chipping as can be seen by the attached photos. I was going to have just the top of the bumper cover repainted but chose not to and to price the vehicle accordingly. The lower left front bumper cover was repaired as well. It looks like a little incident with a parking block. I think that all the wheels have some curb rash but are straight and have no bends in them.
The interior is clean and shows very well for the age. The leather seating does show some wear and there was a split approximately 1.5” in length that was repaired on the drivers side outside upper bolster. Carpets are clean and mb rubber mats are included in the sale of the vehicle. This car does feature the third row rear facing seating to make this a 7 person transporter. The same as a Honda Odyssey but let’s face it. It’s a lot cooler than a mini van! The smart key doesn’t seem to unlock the doors from a very far distance and the unlock button has to be pressed to turn the ignition. I don’t know if this was an extra security measure programmed into the starting procedure or if the keys rf transmitter is faulty. I only have one smart key but also have the spare key that doesn’t have the remote unlock feature. There are no other faults during startup. There are no cracks in the dash nor any on the wood trim.
This vehicle is far from a garage queen but for this hard to find low mileage vehicle it is very nice. It has served us well and I’d have no issues or concerns with driving it across country. If anyone interested and is local to Louisville, ky 40205 you are more than welcome to check it out in person. I’ve tried to disclose any of the cars deficiencies but may have missed something but I can say there are no glaring issues with it. Let me know if any more photos are requested.
