Up for sale is my 2001 Isuzu VehiCross. For those that aren"t familiar with the VehiCross, it was the last entry by Isuzu in the US market and showcased their abilities to create a truck with unparalleled off-road ability while still having great road manners. It was a limited run truck and very rare, a true head turner. It is a pleasure to drive but unfortunately I"m selling it because I haven"t been able to drive it as much as I hoped when I purchased it. I have only put a few thousand miles on it since I bought it. It currently has 146,XXX miles.
Since I purchased it I have done a lot of work including: Amsoil fluids throughout including transfer case, diffs etc. Originally yellow, the previous owner resprayed it with yellow bed-liner, which is tough but didn"t shine so I wrapped it with Avery vinyl, which is one of the best wraps available. This alone is a $2-$3K feature! New rear rotors, pads and one new caliper Newer rear axles, bearings and dust guards New front dust guards New drive belt New shocks New spark plugs New air filter New fuel filter New AC evaporator, dryer and expansion valve Replaced AC condenser and compressor with used components Like new exhaust replacement Added a small storage compartment in place of the CD changer (old changer included) The previous owner also did some work such as new transmission lines to the radiator, 1.5" lift, aftermarket wheels, aluminum hood insert to replace the plastic one, hood scoop, aftermarket Autopage RS-730A alarm system, and skyjacker steering stabilizer. It also has a roof-rack with mounts for skis. Finally, all badging was removed for the wrap. I still have the badges and will include them should you wish to put them back on.
I want to be super honest about this truck so am listing everything I"m aware of in terms of issues: Most VehiCross"s have issues with the windows rolling up. This one is ok so long as you lube them. I spent considerable time realigning them and getting them working good but you do need to keep them lubed for best results. ABS light is on - Most VehiCross"s have this issue. This one has a problem with the control unit. A replacement of unknown condition is provided with purchase if you want to replace it. The truck has some surface rust on the underside. Nothing major or structural and pretty typical for the mileage. As a reference point, many of these trucks have their front crash bar behind the front bumper rotted away from rust but this one"s bar is nearly perfect.
Left rear axle mating surface wasn"t perfect and is seeping diff fluid. Again, pretty typical and easy to fix with a small amount of sealant, which I did to the right rear already. It recently started throwing code P0446, which is the evap vent controller. Should be a simple fix. As with 95% of VehiCross"s, this one burns oil. I add about a quart every 1000 miles. You must check your oil with any VehiCross you buy after every fill at the gas station. This is a great truck at a fair price. Sold as is with no warranty etc.
