Vehicle description
I am the 2nd owner. I bought this truck in Southern California around June 2017 with 168K miles. I bought this with the intent of an overland build with no intent on ever selling, but plans changed. I maintain her for the most part, certain things I take to a mechanic. This is a daily driver and we use this to drive to California twice a year. This is a rare 7.3 crew cab long bed 6 speed with a manual transfer case model. I can"t find another one to compare pricing on. She has vinyl flooring. In my eyes she was the perfect overland platform. She cleans up nice on the inside, the weather was terrible so I didn"t get a chance to detail her. She has a quarter million miles on the clock and has her quirks. But she"s a good truck and I hate to let her go. She will come with extra filters, specialized tools, and any extra parts I have. Clean title
Bad: Paint is peeling on hood (see pix) shifter ball came off (This happened to all my manual transmission Ford trucks) Chips in tailgate from flapping tarp (see pix) Passenger side mirror motor doesn"t work in all directions (non issue, adjust mirror once and never again) One of the windshield spray nozzles is not working (plugged) crack in windshield (summer heat, not from offroading) The most off roading I did in this truck was unimproved county roads.
Good: Starts, runs, and has tight shifting Transmission rebuilt at 169k miles and again at 195k miles (wasn"t satisfied and the shop rebuilt it for free) New "custom" clutch installed at 195k miles lifetime warranty if not used offroad. New ball joints new tie rods redhead steering box a/c still blows cold tight steering Seats in great shape (I use coverking seat covers) Tires have about 10k miles on them. She is rides really well for a leaf sprung truck. All thanks to my months of research and chosen mods Other than replacing wore out parts, she"s been a reliable daily driver for me. full synthetic oil/fluid in transmission, transfer case, and rear end.
Modifications HID lights 2" hanger kit from PMF 2" ARB Dakkar front springs (net lift 2" front, rides way better than stock) made in austrailia 4.5" rear shackle flip from PMF 1.5" rear leaf block (stock was 3". Net rear lift 2", rides better than stock) Bilstein shocks all around Eaton trutrak limited slip Magtech Diff cover PMF dual steering dampener 33" tires on stock rims w/ matching spare Ford AIS cold air intake MBRP 4" T409 stainless turbo back exhaust Strictly diesel high pressure oil crossover line (eliminates oil starvation to cylinder 7) RiffRaff Diesel fuel cross over line (eliminates fuel starvation) RiffRaff Diesel AIH delete plug and code eliminates (air intake heater) RiffRaff Diesel boost fooler (a waste, boost doesn"t get high enough for this to actuate) RiffRaff Diesel CCV crank case vent kit 6 Position tune switch (stock, high idle, 70hp daily, econ, tow, engine brake) New front unit hub bears for both passenger and driver side have less than 30k miles on them (moog brand) Silicone coolant hose kit (not installed, was going to upgrade the OEM style ones when they went bad) New alternator (about 5k miles old)
I kept the mods as mild and minimal, most are to help with reliability for overlanding. Feel free to ask questions.
