Vehicle description
NOT FINISHED
I"ve had this close to four years and this is my 3rd attempt to convert to 4x4
The recent attempt I acquired a 1990 Quigley and found a fabricator on craigslist
It lead me to list if for sale
Summary
It was scheduled to be a one week job, yesterday was 3 weeks and 3 days and I drove it home to find the following ,
The inner shaft to the transfer case adapter is missing, I believe but am not certain the part is QMD-4130678 and I did reach out to Quigley asking for a price and availability for the inner shaft that fits a R4100 and BW 1356, no response yet this was last night
The slip yoke from the front drive shaft is missing
The rear driveshaft is missing
Given my experience with the fabricator I doubt he will come up with the missing parts
The rear U-bolts are not long enough and need to be replaced, the fabricator obviously ended up putting on new factory bolts, the nuts only thread half way through (getting my discouragement to sell yet?) and are not safe IMO
We were waiting on those bolts the last few days, he left the van for me to pick up without being there and I believe the fact they"re the wrong bolts is likely why
I drove it home and it does drive straight/true, no dog tracking, I managed up to 50mph and while it needs an alignment if rode very well
However both brake lights were on, ABS which was not a surprise but the fact the fabricator scrapped the sensors was, and the main brake light, I suspect improper bleeding but as of yet don"t know
The Van shows 280 on the clock but when I bought it I was told that the fuel tank de- laminated at 150k and a repair shop told the previous owner it wrecked the motor and sold him a short block
It does very briefly puff white on cold starts but idles good so I suspect injector o-rings will be needed
Transmission shifts good and firm
Rear end locks quick and has disk brakes
Front is a Dana 44 and not metric so the bolt pattern matched front and rear
I strongly recollect and believe both axles are 3.55 ratio but not a guarantee
This was a Florida van until last year, very solid, no rusty floorboards, cab mount/corners etc
But, as a FL vehicle it has rust above the rear door (picture shown) and I put some house stucco on to shed the water for the short term (two years ago)
The winch pictured is included but I do not have the remote
The driver side window regulator was replaced with an amazon unit, it does not go down the last 1.5"-/+, passenger was replaced and works fine
Yes its dirty, I live on a dirt road and only just now decided to list this, no special prep was made to paint a picture other that what you see is what you get, a diamond in the rough!
Did I mention factory emissions free ? That"s gold IMO
This is being listed once only, if the missing parts show up and they may I will update the ad
