We have decided to downsize as our needs have changed (mom doesn"t need to drive around alone in a huge suburban). We are the second owners of this beautiful 2001 Chevrolet Suburban 2500. We have been driving this suburban for 8 years and put 78k miles on it in those years. It is sporting the big block 8.1 liter engine, 4 wheel drive, leather trim, auto ride for leveling when towing, towing package, 10 ply BF Goodrich tires, rear air conditioner with rear controls, third row removable, cargo cover, cargo tray, middle seat and rear electrical outlets, 38 gallon fuel tank. We are a non-smoking family so it smells clean.
Suburban has been meticulously maintained with regular oil changes, Sony media stereo with bluetooth in 2016 with all new speakers and sub-woofer, Battery in late 2016, tires replaced in spring of 2015, replaced the leather driver seat in 2017, headliner in spring 2018, last wheel alignment in spring 2018, new air conditioner compressor in spring 2018, new rear tail lights in fall 2017 and other various maintenance when needed.
Autocheck or carfax may show two incidents (both parking lot bumps to rear bumper) which no damage occurred. With any vehicle this age, it has a few minor issues. The fender flares clear coat is faded, the dash grille above the steering wheel near the windshield has been repaired because of the plastic grille crack, has the glove box cover has some paint chipping, there is a sensor under the driver seat which randomly causes the ABS/Parking light to randomly illuminate. .or not, but per the mechanic does not affect the system, various tiny rock chips in the paint or scratches. Overall for the age, the paint is very shiny and in great shape from being garage kept.
This has been a very reliable vehicle and has never given us any cause to worry. Its been on several long road trips from the Coast of Texas to the snowy mountains of New Mexico and has performed wonderfully. It may not be the most fuel efficient vehicle on the market getting 9 mpg in town and 12-13 on the road but definitely is loaded with power and comfort to pull your RV or boat or just travel.
