Due to the last winning bidder never contacting me or returning my messages after winning the Audi in the last auction, this vehicle must be reposted for sale.
Selling this car for a family member, new retiree, whose wife says he has to stop picking up the babes in this thing. Responsibly driven vehicle has been owned by the current driver for about 15 years. That’s twice as long as the average marriage, so he knows the car pretty well. The car runs and drives as it is, but it needs a new catalytic converter in order to pass emissions in northern Illinois. If you live in an area where emissions testing is not required, then you might be fine to keep driving it as is. The car has earned many highway miles from long distance daily commuting-year round. It has been reliably driven in the snow each year without issue, thanks to the all wheel drive. As with any car of 19 years, the vehicle is not perfect and should not be expected to be. Although I’ve listed known issues below, we may have missed something. When you’re married for 15 years you may overlook some flaws. The body is in great shape and would be evaluated according to KBB as good or even better condition. Okay, it’s a little flabby around the mid-section, but who’s perfect. The mechanical evaluation would be fair. The car is a blast to drive and still has a lot of pep in her step. This would be a great candidate for a starter car or even a fun low cost zippy daily driver. The new owner would be happy driving with their top off and it comes down easy and without issue. FYI though, people will definitely notice.
New fuel pump and rear brakes last winter.
Dash lights: brake (cause the parking brake is on. .it’s a manual), air bag (doesn’t turn off, it hasn’t been in accident where they have deployed. .it just came on by itself), convertible-top yellow light is finicky and it decides when it wants to turn off, service engine light is due to the catalytic converter.
The rear glass in the top has been re-glued by the owner. Over the years, it has been glued several times and may need to be glued again. The tires need replacing and will not be of any use in the snow in their current condition, unless you just want to have fun. Catalytic converter needs replacing. Inner and outer CV boots are torn. Rear springs are cracked. Mesh windscreen between upper seat backs does not work. Tie rods may need replacing soon, depending on who you ask and how hungry his kids are.
The interior was just professionally detailed for this sale and is in nice condition.
