2000 Volvo V70
This car has been sitting for about a year (started and moved occasionally) waiting for a differential. The differential made a sound and blew all the oil out of it. I couldn"t find one locally. I need AWD so I gave up the search and purchased another vehicle. This car does not have AWD, it drives fine as a front wheel drive vehicle. This is a common problem with this year and most people don"t fix the differential. They just leave the cars front wheel drive. I drove it for a month or two without the differential functioning . The engine runs strong, trasmission shifts smooth. It has a lot of life in it yet. I have another Vovlo with the same engine that has 305,000 miles and still going. I maintained the weak points (timing belt, pcv system, cam seals). Everything works except what I stated below. It has one key FOB and one ignition key. Car is sold "as is, no warranty". I may have missed something that I haven"t stated here.
The Good:
-Timing belt and camshaft seals replaced at 172, 050.
-PCV system(oil trap, hoses) replaced at 172, 050.
-Transmisson fluid changed at appox. 175, 000.
-Symthetic oil changed at 175,000
-Original floor mats
-Good car fax
-Tow package
The Bad:
-Windshield Wipers work but don"t park. It needs a new delay timer. It is uninstalled and in the glovebox.
-Passenger side windows don"t work. I have tested them and have found that it needs a new driver"s side master switch. They can be found on ebay. A common problem on these models.
-Passenger side door lock knob has fell inside door? ?
-Fuel door needs a new plastic insert to be installed back on.
-Needs new tires to pass safety inspection. Dummy tire on passenger rear, full size wheel in trunk.
-Hood needs adjusted, someone must pull up on hood while another pulls release inside. I use a plastic bottle to hold the handle inside while I open the hood.
-Paint is faded on hood.
