Vehicle description
2000 Mercedes W210 body style E320 4-Matic late model wagon, low miles
It has exclusively been a California car, we bought it from Southern California in 2015. It has absolutely no rust, unlike others from the east coast or the Midwest. It is in good shape and has been well maintained.
We began with a full checkup at arrival in San Francisco and fixed everything that was identified (for example air accumulators and A/C) and initiated a regular service schedule following the Mercedes-Benz service recommendations. It received routine oil services every 5k miles or less and only synthetic oil as recommended. The LCD displays in the instrument panel of these models typically suffer from defective pixels, which is why we decided to replace those with new ones. Tags are good until 06/2021 and since the catalytic converters have all been replaced, CA smog won"t be an issue either. In total, we invested about $10,500 into the car (details below). It was our family car and had work done whenever necessary and never procrastinated service, or repair when the car needed it.
This version of the Mercedes E320 is renowned for its durability just like the old Volvo 240 wagons used to be. The engine has just over 120K miles, and engines for these last typically about 300k before they need any major work.
The car has 3rd row seats which fold out, allowing 7 people to sit comfortably (including drink holders). And all seats fold out flat to offer an almost queen size area for comfortable sleeping.
Thanks to the air suspension and the powerful 6cyl 3.2L engine, this car accelerates quickly and cruises at whichever speed you feel comfortable, while keeping the fuel economy at about 25 miles per gallon. It"s a perfect touring vehicle and thanks to the 4-wheel drive, it also handles very well and stable in the snow.
We have always treated this car well and used it mainly for road trips up the West Coast. Our tags are good until 06/2021 and has never had an issue passing CA smog (the catalytic converters were also replaced recently).

Take away all the regular service (oil changes etc) and it still ends up to be about $9,500.00.
The car is completely up to date and all things that might typically fail on this car and age have been replaced with new parts.
THINGS TO TAKE CARE OF:
One thing should be addressed: is due for new brakes. I can have this done for you prior to pick up, but you will have to pay for parts & labor. One thing can be addressed: Sensor for the passenger seats Airbag is inoperable.
COSMETICS:
Bumpers on these cars are, like most modern cars, made from plastic. The front left corner (see photos) is chipped from a meeting with a wall while making parking maneuvers. The lift-gate has a dent just underneath the rear window. Paint is original, but after 20 years it doesn"t have the fresh factory look anymore. The carpets inside look used, some areas are a little stained and the driver & passenger seats show some wear on the vinyl covers, but no tears. You may see a few little dents all around the car, but nothing big to speak of.
NICE TO KNOW ABOUT THE W210 E320 MERCEDES:
The valve cover gasket on the W210 V6 engine Mercedes is known for developing leaks. We have not had this done because our car hasn"t had the problem. However, it is typical and a buyer should know that this is something very common on these cars. If this should happen to you in the future, it should cost roughly $650.00 to have done.
FINALLY:
Unlike what has been my prior experience when you usually buy an older car, you will not have to invest several thousand dollars as it has been kept in good standard and no major work is needed. Though it is hard to give up this car after all, we have decided that we do not need this size of a car anymore. I doubt you will have to invest anything in the near future, including tires, which are high quality Pirelli"s which have seen merely 4K miles of driving since I purchased them new. This makes it hard to let go of this amazing car: I know it"s up to date and there are no ugly surprises. However. . the typical disclaimer for a used car also goes for mine: The car is sold as is.
I think it will be hard to find a more reliable version of this wagon, one that doesn"t need (or have coming up) some higher maintenance bill. If you want to see more photos, or an image of a specific area I didn"t show, just send me a short message and I will be happy to oblige.
