6.5 L Turbo Diesel GEP Optimizer 6500 engine upgraded ( around 500 miles on it )
This is the original Hummer H1 made for public in 2000, MSRP of this vehicle at the Chevrolet dealership in 2000 was $138,000 USD with all the options included like tow package, front winch, five display DVD system with external amplifiers and sub-woofer mounted by the back wall. This was the most original replica of the military HUMMVEE including CTIS system, revolutionary suspension system, all wheel drive, brakes mounted by transmission case etc. converted by Chevrolet for public road use including California state, later models had modifications which differ from original military design, and GM or Chevrolet is written as manufacturer in the title, this one has original AM General with 6.5 liter turbo diesel as used by military with loud, high compression engine. The total of 11,818 models were made between 1992 and 2006, 8770 models were made between 1994 and 2000 with original manufacturer as AM General written in the title. Later models modified by GM with different engines and features than original military design hence ALPHA H1 model was born with Duramax LLY V8 engines. Unfortunately military had big problems with 6.5 litre LGM engines they were poorly designed and had troubles lasting for more than 30,000 - 60,000 miles before serious engine problems occurred and military started rotating engines in HUMMVEE"s since 2000 for 6.5 litre The Optimizer 6500 diesel engine made by GEP you can call it a military version of the H1 Alpha model.
If you are off road vehicle enthusiast, collector or love being in the center of attention on the road, this vehicle is for you, if you can not handle Jeep Wrangler please stay away from HUMMVEE"s you will be disappointed.
As for me I bought this vehicle after 2008 I love it till this day. Since I have moved out of US to EUROPE and I can not bring this one with me I will have problems registering it and would have to make a commercial driver license for semi truck to drive it here. So it came a time to sell my best toy I have ever had and I would like you to have a best experience with this truck maybe like I should have had when I bought it after 2008 from night club owner from Florida but he was just a show men with no off road vehicle experience. At the moment my brother in law is in-charge of the vehicle and it is in his name and located in Houston Texas.
So what"s included :
- 2000 Hummer H1 the only one and original AM General production
- 6.5 litre Turbo diesel GEP The Optimizer 6500 upgraded military engine ( replaced in 2019 paid $14,890 USD for this upgrade )
- CTIS system with Bridgestone Goodyear tires very soft for off road and highway use ( all 4 tires were replaced and have less than 6000 miles on it they wanted $3800 per one, with discount I had at Bell tire I paid around $9600 for all four tires with installation )
- audio system

- front lights were upgraded by me to Xenon Projector lights since the original military lights you could not see nothing at night, now you can see road signs and very nice and bright road ahead.
- brake lights have been upgraded to LED lights

I wish I would had a chance like that when I bought this HUMMVEE that would have made my toy even more lovable than it is right now. Of course at the time of purchase I had no previous experience with H1"s or neither the previous owner but over the years I have become an expert and as a owner of the machine shop in Houston and the actual user of the vehicle I will make sure your experience is much more enjoyable as mine was and you will fall in love with this truck as I did.
