Vehicle description
Vehicle Details This is a very rare opportunity to purchase what has to be one of the lowest mileage, cleanest condition first year AP1 Honda S2000's left in the country. This car has been meticulously maintained and garage kept its entire life and has literally seen rain less than a handful of times. It was always a fair weather weekend car and was never used for commuting or driven in the city. It has always been kept out in the country and mostly used on local back roads with the occasional trip down skyline drive. While that may sound like the typical catch phrase for any seller of a classic sportscar that is no exaggeration in this case.As the vehicle history report shows which we will provide to any prospective purchaser the car is verified 2 owners and has no open recalls or any sort of accident history whatsoever. Every panel, fastener, interior part, etc is factory original. This car has literally next to NO signs that it has ever been driven as the video of the undercarriage shows. Other than the fluids, wiper blades, and tires every other part on the car is factory original. There are 4 very minor cosmetic flaws after going over the car with a fine tooth comb that we have found inside and out as shown in the pictures. There is a small rock chip on the hood in the clear coat, a very small 1/2" scratch on the rear of the bumper, there is a tab that appears to be cracked on the bottom mounting surface of the bumper splitter, and a scrape on the lowest metal cross member in front of the rear differential. (Just a bolt on small piece of u channel that could easily be replaced if someone wanted it to be mint condition) Other than that this car is essentially museum quality and identical to the day it rolled off the assembly line in the same plant the fabled NSX was made in Takanezawa, Japan. If you are still reading this far down in the description you most likely already know how special of a car the S2000 was and how there will never be another truly analogue drivers car made like this again. This was one of the most perfect blends of power, weight, and agility all rolled into an extremely well built gorgeous package with timeless lines that still look new 20 years later. When comparing the build quality of this to many other Japanese sports cars of the era there is no comparison. Even the highly regarded Supra of the late 90s, WRX STi, RX7 or RX8, etc all feel cheaply made and look like their was much less attention to detail in comparison. Honda has always been famous for having much pride in their flagship vehicles and this was certainly one of their most special projects of the past 2 decades. This car also had many innovative features for the time like the push to start button ignition, HID projector headlights, full digital dash, etc. This car was also a technical marvel when it came to the performance parts hiding underneath that beautiful Silverstone metallic bodywork having a nearly perfect 50/50 weight distribution achieved by mounting the engine nearly under the dash for a perfect center of gravity as well has having the highest horsepower per liter of any naturally aspirated production engine at the time with VTEC and all of Honda's other tricks of the trade at the time managing to squeeze out nearly 250 horsepower in stock trim. The car used independent rear suspension with a Torsen style limited slip diff to keep it planted and very composed at race track speeds. The best part of all is that at the end of the day you are still dealing with a tried and true Honda that will last for 100's of 1000's of miles with nothing more than oil changes and some minor routine maintenance. No crazy expensive services to deal with, no exotic one off parts, no German electronics to worry about when the next one will set off a check engine light or leave you stranded on the side of the road, nothing. This is a car that if driven normally will last a lifetime or if driven the way it was intended or put on a track will still outlast almost any other car out there with some minor modifications and upgrades. This one has had the rear axle nuts re-torqued as soon as we got the car (a known issue) and we have not inspected the valve spring retainers as that is typically something to look at on higher mileage cars or ones that are being driven hard regularly. Every single function of the car works perfectly including the roof, air conditioning, radio, cruise control, lights, etc. The car runs excellent and pulls hard to redline with 0 hesitation. The car was just inspected 10-16-21 and just had a full oil change with Amsoil 10W30 full synthetic with a Wix Performance filter less than 500 miles ago when I bought the car from the second owner. This car has many factory options included and comes with every single piece of original sales paperwork as well as promotional flyers and period magazines with full write ups on the car. The factory options include the front bumper splitter / valence, side skirts, rear spoiler, passenger compartment air deflector, leather cover for the soft top when its retracted, etc. We have both keys and keyless entry remotes. It even includes the original promotional book which still plays the car sound when the start button is pressed! I had every intention of keeping this car for my personal use but it's too nice to be driven every day and certainly too nice to be driven on the majority of PA state roads. After unexpectedly getting caught in a rain storm one day I spent the entire ride back to the shop thinking of the hours I would have to spend detailing every little piece of trim the moment I got back to keep the car as perfect as the previous owner had. This made me come to the realization this should be in a collection somewhere it can be maintained in the near pristine condition it's currently in and should be appreciated by someone who knows the value of these cars. This car is truly an investment at this point as these cars have nearly doubled in value over the past 2 years and will continue to follow the trend of many Japanese cars which are reaching 6 digit figures for clean low mileage original examples such as the Supra, NSX, RX7, etc. If you take the time to look at the videos as well as the pictures of the undercarriage and engine compartment you will understand how rare of an opportunity this is to own a piece of Japanese performance car history that's as close to new as you can get for a 21 year old used vehicle. Please contact for more pics or videos as I have full walkarounds of the undercarriage as well as the interior and exterior with the car running.
