HIGH MILEAGE Very clean Honda Accord ES,(clear coat is peeling though) Senior Driven, motor in great shape, less than 100k on it since installed. Transmission serviceable but not great. Interior IMMACULATE. ICE COLD AIR. EVERY TOY WORKS! ! (power windows, seats, turn signals, lights, CD Player, Electric sliding sunroof with Vent positioning also). Brakes ok. Tires with nice tread all around. Quiet exhaust. Very little rust. 24 pictures. Look at them closely please.
The car has the same problem that most 1999-2002 Honda Accords have; transmissions that can shift late at times/at high rpms.
If you drive this one like an adult, it shifts on time nearly every time. If you"re taking off from stop signs and traffic lights and generating high rpms, it will shift late, and you will burn the transmission up sooner or later. SOONER than Later.
I drive it every day with very little effort, but hey, I am a baby boomer who qualifies for free stuff virtually every day of the week now at my current age.
So this is the "skinny;" I have a great running car here with a solid body and beautiful interior that will need a transmission at some point. I cannot tell you what point that is. WHO KNOWS?
The previous owner, an 89-year old female close family friend was "retired" from driving by her immediate family. The replacement motor was done during her time with the car, from 2015 to a few weeks ago. Receipts? Not on hand. This motor purrs, however, so I do not doubt it, plus, why lie? All I am trying to say is the motor and body and interior on this car makes it worthy of a rebuilt (not used, they"re just as bad) transmission.
I already have three cars. I got this one from her, put it in my name legally and plated it here in Indiana. It shifts fine for me, I freeze in the A/C and the CD player is blasting my Led Zeppelin like a "Fool In The Rain." Yes, I have John "Bonzo" Bonham JUMPIN in this car as I ease on down the road.
Enough levity. Here are some recommendations you should consider- - 1. If you are a younger person, don"t buy this car. You"ll burn the tranny up soon. 2. Do NOT buy this car if you"re going to be depending on it with your LIFE (to and from work and critical runs). Even if you drive sensibly, the transmission might still go out! 3. Be Ready To Have A Rebuilt Transmission Installed, WHOEVER YOU ARE if you intend to buy this car.
Bottom line is, if you buy this at my price, and then spend $1600-1,800 to have the transmission rebuilt, YOU WILL HAVE a car for the ages! For under three-grand! See if you can buy ANY GREAT RUNNING, SERVICED ACCORD for under $3k.
Sorry, shipping is not an option on this vehicle.
In the end, I"m just trying to sell it. And that means. .
