Vehicle description

Here is a tiny house on wheels / RV camper rig. This rig is Mad Max meets Martha Stewart. It is a homemade experimental "prototype" and is sold as is. There are many modifications and customizations. Other than the house portion, everything is stock/original. It has a few quirks. All the work has been done by myself. It starts, it idles, it drives, it stops. All the lights function normal.
It was my full time home and daily driver for about 5 straight years. I"ve taken it all across the US, and in it"s current condition I would still drive it any distance with confidence, although it does need some attention to be in tip top condition. I bought it with 99 thousand miles and put roughly 10 thousand on it per year. I"ve never had any breakdowns.
As far as how the engine runs. . I"m not a mechanic but it probably needs some sensors. The only issue it seems to have is that the idle is a little off when you first start it, and it smells as if it"s running a little rich, and it doesn"t drive smooth until it really warms up. But once it warms up, it runs and idles pretty good. Often it will run perfectly after the warm up phase but sometimes the issue does seem to linger even after warm up, but is much less pronounced.
The front cab interior is not pretty. The rear house interior is not bad but could use some finishing touches. The exterior could use a good cleaning or redo.
It comes with a 150 watt solar panel. It also comes with two brand new Bilstein shocks.
It has two sets of helper springs. I have had this massively freighted and though I wouldn"t recommend you weigh it down too much, it will carry a great deal of cargo in addition to the house itself. I even towed a fully loaded 10 foot trailer with the house fully loaded with a LOT of my possessions. The truck is a tank.
With 153k mileage and change on it, it still has good life and power in it.
The rear wall of the cab was removed to allow access to the cab from the inside of the house.
As the photos show, there is a rudimentary sink basin. There"s also a Coleman propane stove. There"s even a little spice rack.
There"s a closet that could be turned into a shower/bathroom.
There"s shelving throughout.
The bunk that sits on top of the cab is large enough for a queen size bed and there"s enough room for you to sit up slightly reclined. There are sliding wood partition doors.
A small stereo amp is also included and the house is wired for speakers. The wiring allows for two stereo speakers in the house and two stereo speakers on the porch.
An HD TV antenna is also included.
The engine is a 4 liter V6. The alternator was replaced brand new just a few years ago.
The AC does not work, but the compressor is brand new. The system just needs a professional to service the hardware and connections. The heater works fine.
It holds oil perfectly. No leaks. And I have been diligent about changing the oil.
Tires are by General. The model: Grabber AT. They have excellent tread. Only about a year old with just a few thousand miles on them.
Radio works but has quirks. CD player not working.
This is a 4wd truck and when I first bought it, it worked, and I"m pretty sure the 4wd is still functioning mechanically, but electronically it doesn"t seem to switch on.
Power windows work. Power locks do not work.
Transmission is great.
Windshield and windows are perfect.
The seats slide and recline as they should.
Seatbelts are intact and functional.
I did have pets living with me so there"s some remnant hair in the corners and such. However I did clean up the whole front and rear interior as much as I could. I"m also a non smoker so no cigarette smell.
The door to the house has a normal house door knob and deadbolt. The locks work fine and I have the keys.
The windows in the rear are plexiglass/ lexan and are removable. The screens are on hinges and can be raised up.
The interior ceiling height is well over 6 feet.
Overall height of the vehicle is just over 10 feet.
The gas gauge works but not perfectly. Basically if you fill the tank, the gauge will go up to about the halfway point. As you drive and use up gas, it does go down. So it"s not stuck or anything.
Starting battery is about a year old.
Wipers work as they should.
You could absolutely take this the way it is and polish it up and use it as a full or part time camper or home. Or you could take the house off and put the house on a trailer. . or somewhere on your property, and use the truck for something else.
The roof has leaks but they are very minor. Water only really comes through if the rain is heavy and lasts a while. Despite the leaks. . there is no rot or mold or softening of the ceiling. A simple application of rubber roof coat will take care of it.
It goes down the highway just fine. I"ve had it well up to 75 mph plenty of times. And when I was towing a trailer with the house fully loaded, I traveled from Louisiana to Illinois to Maine and went through the west Virginia mountains and inclines without issue. Never overheated and never lost power, however she did slow down a bit on the climbs.
It is somewhat insulated and with a space heater it will get very toasty in cold weather and holds the heat. I lived in it for one whole winter and was very comfortable. It will actually get too hot if you just let the heater run all the time.
The gas spout for filling the tank is quirky but works.
Also included is a small 300 watt inverter in the cab that is connected to the starter battery.
The check engine light IS on. . I think it"s related to the sensor and idle quirk.
ABS light is also on. It does not affect the driving.
If I didn"t have as many belongings as I do I would keep it, but as an artist and musician, I just have too much stuff to feasibly carry with just this rig, so that"s why I"m selling it. Looking to put this toward a bigger upgrade.
