Vehicle description
Very rare 2000 Ford Ranger EV fully electric pickup truck. This is an OEM vehicle built by Ford for sale as a California emissions compliance vehicle from late 1998 to 2001. This one of only approximately 400 trucks remaining.
The original NIMH battery pack and charging/control systems were 20 years old and did not hold a charge.
They were replaced with a modern Nissan Leaf based lithium ion battery cells in the original location under the bed.
The truck comes with a top of the line Orion battery management system (BMS) that manages each cell.
It also includes a replacement Elcon charger that has a modern J1772 port, the kind at all charge stations that can be used with either 120v or 240v current at home. The charging port is in the original location.
It has an Android Auto touchscreen stereo with hands free talking / bluetooth. The touchscreen is also used for BMS and EV readouts.
Paint and interior are in excellent shape due to very low mileage of under 30000 miles.
The car is mechanically excellent.
