Vehicle description
For sale is my 2000 Dodge Viper GTS coupe.
This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION. Someone will win this auction! !
It is Viper Steel Grey. It is one of 292 Steel Grey GTS coupes made in 2000, and one of 166 that were mono-tone. Steel Grey was a one year only color only available in the year 2000.
It has a 450 hp 8.0 liter V-10 engine that runs great and is very quick. It is backed up by a 6 speed manual transmission.
I had the car professionally detailed in the spring of 2017, and it had a single stage paint correction. It looks great. As any 18 year old car there are some small scratches and chips in the paint, but it looks GREAT. The factory Alpine AM/FM/CD radio works and sounds good.
After market pieces that are added to the car are smooth tubes, and K&N air filters for an additional 10 hp. I also replaced the steering rack bushings with aluminum pieces to get better steering feel. There are Lloyds embroidered floor mats. I have 2 keys and fobs. I original viper key, and one generic key, both fobs have the viper logo. There is a reproduction owners manual, and a set of service manuls that will come with the car.
The catalytic converters have been removed and a Borla cat back exhaust has been added. The check engine light is not on and there arent any codes in the pcm. Non-foulers have been added to the rear o2 sensors, and the car has passed Illinois emissions testing.
The wheels are 3rd gen viper wheels, and have Michelin Pilot Super Sport Tires, 275/35zr18 on front and massive 345/30ZR19’s on the rear. All are date coded to late 2015 and have a lot of tread left. All of the rims have some very minor curb rash that does not effect the car at all.
I have owned the car for about a year and a half, and in that time I have replaced the battery, the oil cooler lines, and clutch master cylinder. I have had a shop replace the rear seal on the transmission, and a camber adjustment bolt on the right front wheel.
The air conditioning has had the condenser replaced, however there is still a leak somewhere in the system and after a few days the refrigerant will leak out. When full the air blows cold so I don’t suspect the compressor is bad.
When I bought the car I was told it was involved in an accident involving the right front wheel area. The insurance company paid the owner for the car, who in turn sold it to the shop I bought the car from. The car was never given a salvage title, the title has remained clear the entire time. I have a photocopy of the title that shows ownership from the previous owner to the insurance company to the shop I purchased the car from. The title was never “washed”.
Due to the insurance company paying out on the car, they have declared it a “total loss”, and that is reflected in the carfax.
The side sills were replaced with auto form pieces.
I welcome any inspections of the car. If you require any additional information or pictures please let me know. Miles may go up a small amount as I still drive the car occasionally.
This car is being sold as-is, where-is. The car, keys, title will be exchanged after funds have been deposited into my account and the funds have cleared.
I request a $1000.00 NON REFUNDABLE deposit within 24 hours of the auction close. The remainder of funds should be delivered within 7 days of the close of the auction.
Thank you for looking and good luck bidding!
The battery is one year old, it was replaced in the spring of 2017. And the car has the skip shift eliminator installed so feel free to shift through all 6 gears!
