Vehicle description
FYI THE TITLE SAYS 128,000 MILES BUT THE CAR IS ~115,000 MILES. THIS WAS A DMV ERROR, CARFAX INFO PROVES THAT.
2000 540iT Sport (M steering wheel, sport seats, sport automatic, 4:3 navigation)
Runs incredibly well. Has the sport shiftable automatic. Suspension is tight, brakes work well, tires are in great shape. All electronics work. All windows work properly, sunroof works properly, rear window opens, closes, and locks properly. Sport seats are in great shape, just a small imperfection on driver"s seat. No headliner sag. No clearcoat fading on roof. ABS pump (trifecta lights) come on every once in a blue moon.
• bought it from a woman, her father was the original owner. She didn"t have the car long. I could tell from the maintenance history that the car was well maintained by an enthusiast
• modifications include ST performance coilovers, exhaust resonator/barrel delete (it is open, I was planned on welding shut), M5 wheels
• tires, brakes are in great shape
• interior is clean, driver"s sport seat has a small rip (I bought 740i M sport seats to replace these)
• paint is 7/10, interior is 8.5 to 9/10 (paint has many scratches around the body, but I think a good detail would alleviate many of these problem areas)
• very minor accident reported in December 2020 (another driver was parallel parking and backed into the car with their Civic. Front bumper and headlights were replaced. I can send pictures of the damage upon request)
• very minor rust spots on the tailgate and rocker panel near rear wheel well (typical spots)
• front bumper has recently been replaced with a M5 replica bumper. Paint matches, but there is cracking and bubbling
• car comes with paperwork, extra keys, and a pristine non-M bumper
Here is what I have addressed so far:
my friend was parting out an Oxford Green E39 sedan, so I bought some parts from that • M front bumper • aftermarket DEPO headlights
• 740i M sport seats uninstalled (no rips, only cracks, but I am restoring anyway. I can include these in the sale at an additional (but cheap) price)
• new power steering lines
• new valve cover gasket
• alignment
• all fluids (careful attention to engine oil as these cars are known for timing chain guide failures)
