Vehicle Details 2000 Porsche 911/996 CarreraSerious buyers: Please read my ad in its entirety. Thanks!HISTORY: This is a very original, bone dry, totally stock 2000 911/996 Carrera. Just one senior citizen original owner from November 13, 1999, until I purchased it from him in the summer of 2019. He was a member of the Porsche Club of America for over 20 years. I am retired and fortunate enough to own several vintage Porsches which I have collected over the past 45 years or so. Because of this, from time to time, I am asked by friends or family to locate them a Porsche for their driving pleasure. This particular 2000 911 Carrera I found for one of my wife’s best friends about 2 years ago (August 2019). She wanted something under $20K that would be fun, reliable, with documented long-term ownership. She did not want a mint condition “trailer queen” that she had to worry about getting door dings, scratches, nicks, chips, etc. She used this car for over a year and a half as a “weekender” and put less than 2,000 miles on it. Eventually she needed the money for part of her down payment on a condo in Hawaii, so she asked me if I wanted to buy it back a couple of months ago – and I did so. Unfortunately my son is undergoing another back surgery on July 16. It is not covered by insurance and is quite expensive – hence the sale of this 911. At this time, it simply makes more sense to sell an extra car that is just sitting under a car cover in my driveway than dip into our savings account. This Carrera is probably the most thoroughly documented 911 of this vintage that you will ever come across. I have everything from the itinerary for the original owner’s tour of the Porsche Factory in Germany in the fall of 1999, to the original window sticker (MSRP) that lists all its standard equipment, options, price, etc. Additionally, the sale of my Porsche comes with all the books, manuals, 2 keys, master locking lugnut, touch-up paint, car cover and even the salesman’s business card from Claridge’s Porsche in Fremont, CA where the owner took delivery 21 years ago. MECHANCIAL: I have every service and repair record from new to the present. I have a 3-inch-thick file of these documents…. Seriously, they weigh 2-3 pounds! The most notable of these is a factory 6-speed manual transmission replacement under warranty at 75,000 miles ($9,291) and a fully rebuilt engine by Vertex Porsche in Miami, FL in 2014 due to IMS failure. This occurred at 110,000 miles. The new engine, of course, has all the important upgrades such as IMS, RMS, oil separator, and much more. This 911 Carrera runs, drives, shifts and brakes like new! It fires up first time, every time! The steering is super tight and it handles great. It does have the typical Porsche oil drips on the ground after sitting, but the engine itself is very clean underneath and there is no smell of oil. On March 17, 2020 it was serviced, inspected and any necessary repairs were performed including an oil change, a new battery, and some new vacuum hoses (about 1,000 miles ago). My 911 was used by the original Silicon Valley owner as his “daily driver” for nearly 20 years until recently when he moved to Sun City Lincoln near Sacramento, CA. Current mileage is 177K (8,000 miles per year). Everything works including the electric seats, sunroof, radio and even the A/C! Factory options include the aforementioned, plus Porsche stability management (PSM), Alcantara (suede) headliner, and ultra-rare/special order Mirage metallic paint that was available as an $850 option only in 1997-2000!COSMETICS: Cosmetically it is in good condition inside and out, but is starting to show its age, although it has always been garaged! The paint is very shiny, but has its share of imperfections including, but not limited to, several touched-up chips, nicks, scratches and small dings. The car looks great from 5 – 10 feet away, but upon closer inspection, one will definitely notice these flaws. The original wheels have no curb rash and the Michelin tires are in very good shape. The interior of my Carrera is much the same. While all the seats were completely re-upholstered a few years ago (and still look and feel great), there are some areas of the remainder of the interior that are showing their age including, but not limited to wear on the shifter knob, emergency brake handle, center console, steering wheel, etc. This is a really fun 911 that has been driven on a regular basis - mostly by its original owner since day one. IT IS NOT A TRAILER QUEEN, but still presents nicely as seen in the pictures. It has been fanatically maintained with an open checkbook to ensure its reliability as an everyday source of transportation. My 2000 Porsche 911 Carrera has no known significant needs and can be driven anywhere and enjoyed immediately. It is currently insured and registered in my name (clean/clear title) through November 2021. It recently passed the California smog test with flying colors and the certificate is good through August 4, 2021. In addition, a copy of the clean Carfax report will be included in the sale as well. Please call me with any additional questions you may have. I have attempted to describe my car as honestly as possible as to its condition in general, but obviously there may be more specific details that are of importance to you that I have been remiss to include – even in an elongated ad such as this! LOL!Serious bidders only please. Please attempt to view my car before the 5-day auction ends. If you are unable to do so, and are uncomfortable, or unwilling, to pay for my car before seeing it in person, please do not bid on it. Payment in full is expected within 72 hours of the end of the auction. Once the funds (wire transfer or cashier’s check) have cleared my bank (Chase Bank) then I will release the car and the clear/clean title which, of course, is in my name. Also, please do not email as I rarely use that mode of communication. Please feel free to call me directly with any questions at (Chris). I live in El Dorado Hills, CA near Sacramento.
