About this vehicle This 1999 Mercedes-Benz SL500 is an original. The owner has had it for 5 years. The vehicle runs great and is mainly used for weekend drives. Vehicle Details 1999 Mercedes SL500. Beautiful white with gray interior in great condition. Engine and drivetrain are superb with exceptional power and no issues. As with most R129’s, the convertible top is not working due to hydraulic cylinders that need to be replaced. I replaced 3 of 11 over a year ago, but now 2 more have started leaking. Although the top will work with these 2 being replaced, I suggest replacing the remaining 8 cylinders because they will all eventually fail. Top Hydraulics rebuilds or replaces existing cylinders (with core exchange) with new ones that are far superior to the original stock cylinders for a very reasonable price. If so inclined, you can replace the cylinders yourself instead of taking it to a shop. I usually only drive with the top down, so I chose not to replace the remaining cylinders. The soft top and the included hard top can be attached-raised manually. The soft top is in excellent condition and the plastic windows only show minor creasing and mild oxidation. Other than the top, everything works and there are no dash light warning symbols. I removed the headlight wipers because they never worked correctly AND I feel that it gives the front a cleaner look. I have the filler panels with no holes as well as the paint to complete the headlight washer delete. Cold A/C and all systems functioning normally. I am selling because I recently purchased a CLS and simply don’t have the room. I purchased the car in 2017 and have put less than 6,000 miles on it since I bought it. The car was purchased solely as a weekend/pleasure driver although it could be used as a daily driver. Bulletproof engineering and reliable. Carfax shows 2 minor accidents over 20 years ago, but it is impossible to tell it ever had any damage. The body is in superb condition as well as the interior. Please message me with any questions.
