| “every year before my father leaves I want his vehicle to be as reliable as possible so he's not stranded and I have to get him, I replace all these parts on good conscience not because they needed replacing. Recent parts installed (within 6mo.) Upgrade performance fuel injectors(8), plugs(8), all Wires(8) and coil packs (4), water pump, fan clutch,O2 sensors(4), all radiator hoses, power steering hoses, and the feed fuel line, fuel pump, filter, and pressure regulator, parts 1-2years old are alternator, MAS, and crank shaft position sensor. Every 6,000 MI (just done under 1000k ago) all differentials(3)gear lube change, trans filter(fluid done every 25k) oil filter+lube (napa gold only) air filter and coolant swap. Belts are fairly new as well. Anything I could possibly think of was done.” |

Vehicle Details 1999 Land Rover Discovery 1 SD AWD SUV 4.0L V8 W/105k mi. This Vehicle belongs to my father, he has owned it for some time now and has mainly used it for his "expedition's" a few times a year out of state. I have been the mechanic for the majority of the time he had owned it. To start I want to apologize of the pictures seem excessive, I wanted to leave full disclosure from different light and angles for proper bidding, having said that, this is by far the nicest disco that has come through our pack,( we have/had one of every year some multiple) and anyone who knows discovery ones knows they need regular or routine maintenance/ service to stay reliable, but this one has surprisingly never forced attention before I declared a part in need of service. For instance, I could ramble on about what's been changed out but it has never had any parts fail before change, ill include a list at The end of all recent installed parts, bottom line. . My father is pushing late 60's and his idea of rock crawling is taking a dirt road with some sand and a few pot holes. This has not seen any abuse nor been put anywhere near it's capability. When we purchased the rover it was bone stock so all mods and upgrades were done for a retired man who probably doesn't even know how to engage the center diff lock. The reason it's up for sale is his new infatuation with a defender Diesel to pull behind his "Diesel Pusher" on his next trip. I have a Disco at his house sitting and one in my garage undergoing pre run surgery, this is too nice of a platform to start cutting frame. It runs very well, it drives like a lifted suv but that's his words, I'm used to it and think it drives like a Buick, gets gas milage like a pickup truck(17-19mpg :/) but it's a solid bug out rig or toy for someone who wants a good start for a long term truck. It's got an ARB front bumper with a never used 9000lb winch(other than me pulling a dead golf cart up a driveway), two inch with med. Duty terraffirma Shocks and springs(fairly new 2years +/-1/2), 235/85/16 firestone M/T2 bloggers that are with under 5000k on them strapped on all steel wheels, the roof rack I believe is arb as well but not certain, all lights work(one has slight cracked lense) led headlight upgrade also, one of the first modifications we did was getting rid of the poor designed rubber flange for the rear drive shaft got the upgrade prop shaft (pic below), snorkel (it is the most recent upgrade, I installed it to the vehicle but it still needs to be hooked up to the intake. I will include all hardware that it needs), this is the 99 Discovery it is the last year they made it it's actually only for half the year before they switch to the Discovery 2. This vehicle is not perfect but for a 25 year old truck it is pretty darn clean and well taken care of. Shift smoothly, high low neutral diff lock all work fine, top of the line service parts always used more often than necessary for service. Everything works AC is cold, only thing as far as mechanical is the sun roofs were hitting the rack so I sealed them and disconnected the wire there is some cosmetic damage the last six pictures show all the little nicks and scuffs, past that expect a 25-year-old truck that has been well taken care of and you won't be disappointed. I will answer any questions I can I'm sure I forgotten a few things and I will update post as the time goes on. It's located in Murrieta CA deposit of 250 is required, prefer that it's picked up same day but if not 24 hours is okay I can work with anyone if they talk to me, I'm willing to do some sort of shipping arrangement if necessary due to the rarity of this vehicle, I wouldn't be surprised if someone on the East coast wanted it, it is titled in Arizona, clean registration and Bill sale notarized title. Have three sets of keys, and a bunch of receipts owners manuals etc. It comes with the height of Jack the sand ramps and the shovel on the roof rack, it will be cash only upon pickup excluding the deposit which will be through PayPal.
