1999 Honda Accord 4-Door Sedan CG5 (6th Gen)
Car is running with 3 Cylinders (P0303), flashing Check Engine Light. Cylinder no.3 has a compression of 40 psi (Missfire), the rest are fine. Car shakes while idling, drives just fine (when not idling). Actually it is more like a sputter. Motor is around 180K. Previous seller said the replacement motor had an extremely low mileage. Please ask any questions you may have before placing a bid. Note that buying a car on is like buying a car anywhere else, there is no return or exchange. Let’s start with the goodies (make sure your read the cons as well)

CONS (from most to least important)
40 psi on Cylinder No. 3 (P0303), missifire. Motor replacement or valve job required (immediately)
SRS Airbag is disabled – Euro R steering wheel was imported from Japan and shipment of the airbag is prohibited. I was going to buy one, but it is expensive. The original steering wheel (included) still has the airbag intact.
Windshield often gets foggy. Turning on defroster will get rid of it, but sometimes it takes time. It has been like this since I bought the car.
Rock chips on windshield, mostly on passenger side. I believe there’s only one on driver side, on the upper area. None of this will obscure your vision.
Rattle on front passenger side window. If you roll it down, the rattling will disappear. It’s not too bad when you’re driving on the freeway. Engine burns oil. I usually add a quart of oil around 2K miles (after oil change).
Tail lights leaking water. I believe it needs to be resealed. Water will get inside the tail lights when it rains. Once you pop the trunk open, water will spill on to the carpet. It is annoying, you’ll just have to wait a minute or two until it stops dripping. I was planning to fix this in summer.
Oil catch can is currently not mounted, but it is held on by some Velcro straps (see photos for details).
Short throw low beams. I’m not sure how to fix this. I can see just fine, but I would recommend replacing the housing again (both OEM and black housed included, you will need new bulbs).
Left kick panel gets in the way of pressing the clutch. Does not apply to me, I wear a 10.5 shoes. If you have large feet (larger than me) it may feel a little awkward.
Body has several imperfections (please see photos for details). Scratch, small dents, rusts, etc. I would say that is normal for a car this old. An example would be the front driver side bumper, see photos for details.
Back up camera is held on by electrical tape. I have not replaced the tape in 5 years, but I would recommend the new owner will mount it properly. Not a hard job, I just didn’t want to drill the plastic LED cover (license plate light).
Driver side rear view mirror is a little shaky (while driving). This is not a big deal, just don’t know how to fix it.
Switchblade key only work on one side. This was a fun project I did last summer. I’ve only used it for about a week. I think the key fob part is pressed hard, especially the lock button, so sometimes it will lock itself before you press it. I would recommend using the regular key and separate key fob.
Temp gauge needle does not stay in place. It will not go pass a quarter way up. Previous owner said the cooling system is excellent which is why it is never even close to half way up (like most cars do). I have replaced the Thermostat but it did not change.
Heater blower motor is noisy, but not too loud. Works just fine, does not bother me while driving.
A month ago, neighbor backed up and hi the driver side bumper (on side part). Appears to be light. Fender is slightly sticking out. Driver side door slightly touching the inner side of the fender when opening/closing.
Please note that the car will start in any weather conditions (rain or shine). Again, it will drive just fine until you get to a stop light or idling, then it will shake (sputter). You will feel a loss of power while idling, but engine does not shut off. Yes, it is drivable, but I do not recommend driving it for too long. I’ve driven the car for around 40 miles since Dec 22nd. 6th gen Accords are one of the best Honda has ever made (especially 98-00). The 5-speed manual transmission is hard to find, you’re lucky to see one on eBay. Please read the list of maintenance history performed on this car, this should tell you that I have religiously taken care of this car. I hope the new owner will do the same. I had big plans for this car, I’m sad to see it go. Adult driven car and never raced or abused. Never smoked in. No pets. This will make a good project if you are a JDM enthusiast or a mechanically inclined person who can fix the problem. Note that this car will take the H or J series motor if you need more power. Thanks for taking time to read this listing. I’m trying to be as detailed as possible as there are no returns or exchange for this car. Car is being sold as-is. Please ask questions before placing your bid. If you live locally, you’re welcome to test drive the car, social distancing will apply, please wear a mask. If you are planning to ship this car to your location, please contact your local freight service agency for a quote, let me know if you have trouble and need some assistance. I have been buying and selling on for over 20 years. Check out my feedback and bid with confidence.
