Vehicle description
Here we have a clown shoe that has been hiding in my friends barn for 10 years. He got it in trade for some metal fab work and I in turn traded him a ragtop chevy he wanted. The car holds a charge, charges on down the highway, doesn"t heat up and is quite fast. It has a header and exhaust that is very loud. The BMW retains most of its original panels and I was surprised when I matched all the tags to the vin. I"m not sure what happened to the little car but it must have spun around, tapped the passenger side rear corner and drivers side front corner. The drivers side is still pushed in a little right by the shock tower. I removed the interior trim that covers the passenger side taillight and it had very little damage to the body. It appeared that they just pulled that corner back out and re-installed the taillight with no welding or cutting. The M coupe goes on down the road just fine with no vibration to the steering wheel or odd creaks and groans. It does not feel like the vehicle was compromised at all. Please examine the pictures and view the drivers side taillight repair. Its a little soft right there with the repair. This could be a perfect track day car since its not going to be a perfect car without a high end paint job with body repair. It also appears that the drivers side rocker was pulled out. The tow truck operator most likely pulled too hard on the car when it was returned to the road after the spin out. The AC works but the button has broken free from the console. The car will not pass California emissions with its current set-up. I have the cats that my friend removed. He told me the check engine light came on after he replaced the exhaust system. I also have the original wheels with no tires. They have some dings but no curb rash. The hatch is askew from where it should be and exhaust fumes come into the cabin. The windows roll up faster than they roll down. They roll down slowly in my opinion. In closing I feel that this is a great opportunity for someone to take ownership of a future classic. I have tracked the rise in values of these and the ship is sailing. Its not quite out of the harbor but soon this will be a hard car to get a good price on. I know I will look back and wish I had kept this one another decade but thats not my game. If you wanted to, I feel you could drive this car across country right now. It might be time to get on board if you"ve been waiting for one of these. They"ll be a 100 grand in the near future for a pristine low mileage example. I can drop this to an international shipping agency 10 miles away, or load it up for you on a transport truck. Thanks for your consideration, Harris
