1999 BMW 540iT Touring Sport Package, Titanium Silver on Sport factory Black leather interior and Technical Graphite OEM BMW trim. It took me a couple years prior purchase in 2017 to find a V8 E39 5 Series wagon with Sport package, and black Sport interior. From 13,601 Tourings made in their 5 year run, 2,363 were 540iT"s and from those, just 879 in 1999. How many of those 879 were factory optioned Sport Package AND black Sport interior? Don"t forget 181,500 sedans were produced for the U.S. market in the 5 year run. Enthusiast owned since 2017 with just 143976 miles, always garaged. Accident free, Rust free (not even rust at the silly drain less filler cap area), smoke free, no leaks. Occasional use in good weather only, no winters, not even rain, back up car; never daily driven. A small seepage of power steering fluid from hose reservoir. Preventative maintenance includes timing chain guides, along all new tensioners (including cam tensioners), all new timing chains, timing chain cover gaskets, new valve cover gaskets, new grommet bolt intake gaskets, new valley pan, coolant tubes with gaskets, new engine coolant seal, new crankshaft seal, new chain case cover gasket, new engine block cover gasket, new water pump, new fan clutch and fan blade, new thermostat, upgraded M60B40 intake manifold with larger runners and internal velocity stacks from E32 1993 740i with all new gaskets and seals, new oil filter seal and grommets, new NGK Iridium IX spark plugs, new fuel filter, new fuel filter plastic cover, new Continental serpentine belt and AC belt, transmission service with new filter, new 265 35 and 225 40 tires on OEM forged 18x8 and 18x9.5 E38 Staggered M Parallel Style 67 wheels, new windshield cowl and trim, new tailgate weather seal and new tailgate shocks installed (I have new glass tailgate shocks as well, I can"t find them!). Glass in excellent condition; all power windows/sunroof/power tailgate latch are in good working condition, front passenger window hesitates going up sometimes (cable) but all regulators are good. Interior is in immaculate condition; just A pillar driver side material is separating a bit. No seat twist. Pixels in cluster are not the greatest but you can still see miles, etc and all gauges/lights are functional. OEM M5 front bumper (hit a armadillo, easy repair on passenger side) along new inner bumper liners (called pork chops in the BMW world) were installed with new tailgate spoiler. Every new part is OEM or top quality brand if not available OEM. When these were professionally painted, the hood and driver front door were also painted as some deep scratches were there unable to clean up with buffing. Rest of the paint is very nice, shiny without any clear coat issues. Hood was also painted and cleared in the inside as BMW applied there from the factory just a base coat color. Suspension components are good without any noises; the typical 55 mph shimmy appears but drives smooth vibration free and straight at 70, 80 and 100 plus mph without any issues. Rear suspension airbags are fully functional, leak free and they don"t sag even when it sits for a long time. Aftermarket exhaust without drone or being loud; cats removed as were bad (check engine light on as O2 after cats sensors read the wrong flow) but factory resonator remains in the system. Brakes are good. If factory delivered status is desired, factory OEM wood interior trim, OEM 17"" Staggered Style 32 wheels (bend and crack free) and factory exhaust is included with the vehicle. Ac does not work properly, it blows warm air; compressor kicks on and electric fan kicks on and off. However, electric fan operates fine with engine temperature; temp gauge stays in the middle and does not overheat. I don"t daily drive it so it never bothered me. Fuel gauge reads half when tank is full; it has two floats in the fuel tank so apparently one is sticking. I drive 300 miles and fill up again to prevent running out of gas. One key/remote included; remote is temperamental, still starts locks and unlocks with the key without any problems. Owner"s manual, black OEM BMW owner"s manual case along documentation and receipts are included. Touring is offered at a reasonable low reserve; to address the aforementioned issues. I recently purchased an E39 M5 and I can"t justify to own both.
