Vehicle description
This is an auction for a very well kept Volvo; V70 Cross country vehicle. As may be known these older Volvo are made of a steel body and they are famous for their safety, stability as well as with their military technology equipment and high quality machinery. With the exception of the sounds system and some modifications- mentioned elsewhere- this particular vehicle has all the original parts. It looks inside out almost like brand new .
General : Engine is in great shape, no dripping oil or smoke, no signs of old age with it. It starts right up and runs smoothly. It doesn’t seem to burn oil any more than any other older vehicle. The timing belt replacement is not due for another 50,000.00 miles. It is the powerful Turbo machine, remarkably powerful even with this heavy sound steel body.
Drive: smooth and pleasurable. It feels safe right away the way it takes on the road. The transmission and wheel is perfect all is smooth and right. The breaks are perfect and balanced in stopping power. It doesn’t feel to me in anyway different than a new car.
Comfort features: It cools and heats wonderfully. I had no issues or any repairs needed. Being an audiophile myself, I had installed a Pioneer Sound system with all “Infinity” brand speakers. The speakers alone were over one grand. It is Iphone and Ipad management and control capable but has another application jack for other use. The seats are although mainly leather they are unusually comfortable and roomy.
Exterior: It seems to be excellent . I can’t find a fault. No rust and apart from some road wear no paint damage. Looks new. The wiper handles for the headlights are stolen. I never really used them. The headlights are in great shape and function. The tires are in very good shape. They are the best winter tires I ever had. Very effective in snow and very silent on the asphalt.
Interior : Apart from use and wear signs with some fades stains on the seats it seems good. I think they are nothing that would turn a customer away.
Modifications : Important. This vehicle in its original state is an all wheel vehicle. It is also capable of handling tracks if mounted to it. Police departments use such applications in snowy places. I had the front to back drive shaft removed for simplicity and fuel economy. I have been very happy with it being only a front wheel drive in the winters of Illinois and Wisconsin with the snow tires it comes with . With some expense it could instantly be returned to its original capacity . I also removed the fuse controlling the ABS, because I trust myself better than the computer when hauling boats and things, especially in winter conditions. Unfortunately, this same fuse controls the Cruise control as well and therefore it is off, unless one replaces the fuse. I had the vehicle like this and I was happy with it so long, I don’t know where I have that particular fuse anymore.
Problems : Lately the gas gauge is not showing the gas level correctly. The replacement of such parts may be time consuming in a Volvo. Therefore I left it alone and didn’t get it fixed. I simply filled it up often not allowing any problems. It that is a problem for you please take note of this. I believe I stated all I know about the vehicle.
