Vehicle description

1998 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4WD No Reserve VIN: JT3HN86R4W0162011 Mileage: 268,100 No Reserve See bottom for payment instructions. I have tried to include pics of all of the issues I mention below and 2 videos of engine startup and the truck running and a walk around video. Here are some extra pics: https:/ www.flickr.com/photos/76300548@N08/albums/72157720035256667 Engine start #1: https:/ youtu.be/ROxH4xdFlkI Engine start #2: https:/ youtu.be/WaRw_1uezhk Walk around: https:/ youtu.be/xLycsr3NuWg I bought this 1998 4Runner SR5 4WD April of 2021. It has been well maintained throughout its 23-year life. I did an oil change in July with Castrol Synthetic High Mileage oil, changed the fuel pump & filter and inline filter and installed 4 new Firestone Destination AT/2 and had an alignment in September, when the tires were installed. The tires have less than 100 miles on them. I recently checked out the 4-wheel drive system and it works, as it should. The clear coat over the factory Metallic Forest Green paint has worn off the hood and top causing the paint on the hood to crack in the middle to craze and has a little rust in it. The interior features tan cloth seats and carpets and are in good shape, however the drivers seat bottom has recently developed a tear. The previous owner reported that there was a leak in the sunroof 2010 that was repaired, accounting for the discoloration on the forward part of the headliner. The leak was repaired at the time. The center armrest has some small cracks but the dash is unmarked. There is one small bulls-eye crack in the windshield on the driver’s side, close to the A-pillar and there is a similar one on the passenger side; both are out of the line of sight. According to the previous seller, this truck has had WeatherTech floor mats since early in its life, which has protected the carpets from getting dirty. The original Toyota floor mats in their original plastic are included with the sale. This truck retains its working original Toyota AM/FM cassette / CD player although the power antenna makes noise when extending. The AC and heat work great except the blower fan makes a lot of noise on high. I recharged the AC system in July. I never used the rear environmental system so it may be inop. One key, jack & tools and factory manual are included. The previous owner had the truck for nine years and put approximately 125,000 miles on it. He claimed that it was his wife’s daily driver during most of their owner ship. They did drive it from Virginia Beach to Colorado occasionally. According to the previous seller, he bought it from a retired man who mostly used the truck to tow his Johnboat. At approximately 200,000 miles, the previous owner changed the timing belt, water pump and flushed the transmission, 4 wheel drive gearbox, and differentials. He also replaced the brakes and rotors in November 2018, the alternator in Jan 2020, towing wiring harness in June 2020, replaced the rack & pinion, pump and lines in February 2021, and the starter in March 2021. I have a couple of receipts from the previous owner and all of the receipts from my ownership. I will give these to the new owner with the truck. The biggest issue is that the truck leaks power steering fluid overnight but not when running. This does not affect drivability or usage. The front struts need to be replaced and I am including a set with the hardware in the sale. The sunroof needs to be lubricated and the gas door spring does not open the door properly. The driver’s door lock, where the key goes in, does not function properly but the passenger side works fine. The rear door has a dent that looks like the truck was backed into a tree. This has caused the rear door to be hard to close sometimes. TI put put Ospho on the rusting metal on the back door to stop further rusting. According to the CARFAX report, the truck was involved in a low speed accident (like at a stop light), in July 2016 by the previous owner, where the airbag did not deploy and the truck was driven away. The light cosmetic damage to the front has not been repaired. I would have not problems driving this truck anywhere. This is a very dependable truck that can be driven daily without issues. I have a clear North Carolina title in my name.
