Vehicle description
This is a fully documented number 53 of 1500 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP Daytona pace car. I have all the documentation with it including the window sticker, both original keys with key fobs and the key tags, sales brochure, framed certificate from NASCAR, A letter from the president of the Pontiac division about the NASCAR heritage, and even recall postcard because the valve cover recall was never done on this car.
It was bought new in Bradenton Florida and has never left Florida. It has absolutely zero rust. It has 48,000 original miles. The auto check score is 48 out of a maximum of 45.
However the car is not perfect. I got this car on a trade deal for an air conditioning system (I"m an AC guy here in Florida). The car looks great from 20 ft away but it really needs a new paint job. it has some kind of aftermarket tail lights because the originals were faded, one headlight has some moisture in it, the lower door moldings both have issues and there is a split in the rocker panel molding on the driver"s side (easy fix). Someone has tried to touch up the plastic bumper covers, moldings and spoiler in the past and didnt do such a great job. It also used to have window tint that was peeled off and the back window still has some old tint on it it looks like.
The interior is pretty decent but you can tell the car has been sitting around for a long time The leather is very dry and the window scrapes on the door panels are getting kind of ratty. The volume on the radio tries to turn itself up instead of down the AC works when it wants to and the power seat has mysteriously quit working. As far as I know everything else works fine. There are a couple of tears in bottom cushions of the leather but only because it"s so dry. There are a couple of mysterious worn spots on the carpet. They look like they were from high heels or something. All of the original NASCAR plaques are inside it just needs a lot of cosmetic work to be perfect.
mechanically all seems to be good The tires are good it runs good and shifts good. It"s a pretty nice car overall I might be overstating the plight of its condition a bit. I"m sure one good weekend of detailing would go a long way with it.
I don"t really have the time to mess with it and I"m not much of a Pontiac guy to begin with and I recently hurt myself at work so that has set me back from doing anything with it. I would rather see a true enthusiast take it and work with it it would be a very nice car and it is fully documented and it"s a low number of the 1500.
I had it sold on to someone that was not authorized to buy it which is a long story it had bid to 4879 at no reserve. I consulted with some Pontiac guys because I didn"t know a lot about these cars. I feel that a documented car like this that"s a low number probably has a lot of potential I just want to make somebody a good deal.
The car is in the safe keeping until you can get it shipped and you can pay with PayPal if you wish.
Thanks for looking
Happy bidding and good luck!
