Vehicle description
Vehicle Details Mercedes-Benz SL-Class. Condition is "Used". This thing runs like a scared rabbit, and corners like a slot car. This car was made as a 1989 model as a 'cost is no object' car from mercedes. For example, If the body sensors feel wrong, a roll bar is deployed by explosive charges. The car also has antilock brakes, and anti slip acceleration programming. I live upstate New York, and during the winter with a snowy driveway, I pushed the accelerator to the floor and all it did was go up the driveway slowly and calmly, no fuss no bother. It has things like automatic windshield wipers that work great. You press the accelerator to the floor from a standing start, and be prepared to be scared really bad. The exhaust is quiet, and the engine feels silk smooth. There is really no way to describe the driving experience with a SL500, you have to drive it. Now bad news, The center air condition vents on the dash does not work. I am told there is a leak in a line behind the dash, don't know for sure. The battery warning light on the cluster keeps flickering, don't know, but I will probly fix that in the next few days. within a few days of buying the car, I discovered a small coolant leak in a fitting on the top of the radiator. A few days later while driving the temp guage took off and pinned. There was no warning of any kind, it just pinned. I towed the car home and started making phone calls to recovery yards. I found an engine a few hours away in Mass. I drove over there and bought the engine along with the guage cluster from the car it came from. I had the engine and the cluster installed by a Mercedes trained mechanic at 'Autobahn Center' in Albany New York. Then I took the car over to the Mercedes Benz dealer to be checked out. The dealer proclaimed the car to be in great shape and all was well. New York State accepted the milage as fine, and I have been driving it since. Sorry about the lousy pictures, but that all I got. The car is in great shape, and it comes with the hard top, and a HID conversion kit. Images Download the Motors app
