Vehicle description

1998 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC Collector’s Edition # 312 of 1,280 produced for the US. The Collector’s Edition represented the end of production for the storied Lincoln Mark series, and came equipped with unique extras just for the CE. Finished in Cordovan Metallic with the Prairie Tan two-tone interior, I confirmed via the VIN and build sheet that this Mark was one of the first Collector’s Editions assembled, on Monday, June 8, 1998. With its 4.6L 32-valve, 290 HP Intech powerplant, (same as the early Mustang Cobras) this car is an absolute thrill to drive. It’s powerful, responsive, and sporty, and definitely turns heads wherever it goes. This car is not perfect, nor is it a show car, but rather a well-cared for example of the Mark VIII line. I purchased this car in March 2007 from South Hills L-M, the original selling dealer, in Pittsburgh, PA. The original owners , who drove the car fewer than 1,152 miles per year, had just traded it to South Hills. In my 13-year ownership, I drove it an average of 5,556 miles annually. Included with the sale are most of the service and maintenance records, books, manuals, factory brochures and other literature and information related to the Mark VIII LSC CE.
With the sale will come many extra parts, including headlights and HID bulbs, a factory radio, the climate-control dash module, and an additional heated seat module. The factory Collector"s Edition floor mats were never used. The Prairie Tan interior is in very good shape, with no tears in the leather seats, and no stains on the carpets or door panels. Four new Hankook tires were purchased at 75K miles. I’m particularly proud of the fact that my Mark VIII was featured in the 2012 Lincolns of Distinction calendar. The car was involved in a front collision in August, 2010. Due to the car"s age and the scarcity and high cost of available NOS and OEM parts, I purchased my car from the insurance company. The Mark VIII was repaired at a professional body shop at my own additional expense. All receipts from the professional repair are included. Further details available on request. Imperfections today include a crumple dent located on the lower quarter panel in front of the RR wheel and behind the passenger door. (See photo). There are also a few parking-lot dings and stone chips on the driver"s side and the hood, respectively. The driver’s seat is not heating, and the rear neon light bar needs a new ballast. The chrome directional wheels look great, but there are some very small cracks around the centers of two of them. Everything else seems to be in proper working order, including the air ride system. The car can be inspected and driven in the Chicago metropolitan area. The price is what I believe honestly and reasonably reflects its heritage, rarity, appeal, mileage, and its current condition. Additional photos and a list of all extras is available on request. Please contact me with any questions, and thank you for taking a look.
