Vehicle description
About this vehicle This 1998 Lincoln Mark VIII is an original. The owner has had it for 1 year. The vehicle runs great. Seller"s Notes Sold as is where is with any and all faults, no warranty expressed or implied. Buyer responsible for shipping. Vehicle Details Offered for your consideration is this two owner mark viii LSC with just over 63,000 miles! Please read description carefully. The car was originally sold and titled in CA to the first owner May 26th 1998. Under the first owner the car was driven just over 36,000 miles over the course of 3.5 years when it was then traded in. The second owners (friends of mine) purchased the car from Lexus of Sacramento in November of 2001 and remained in their ownership until I acquired it in October of 2020. Using it sparingly, the second owners added about 27,000 miles to the car in 19 years of ownership always garaging the car and servicing it as necessary. As the couple got older they drove the Mark less and less as it became increasingly difficult for them to enter and exit the car do to health reasons. They treasured the car and it shows with its condition. Recent service work performed by me includes oil service, air filter replacement, serpentine belt, idler, and tensioner pulley replacement, AC recharge, and brand new Michelin Defender tires. The power is put to the road by the famous 4.6L 32 Valve DOHC V8 that runs fabulously with just over 63,000 miles. The transmission shifts and operates just as it should. All factory air suspension components are in excellent operating order as well. A heavy interior detail was also preformed to reveal remarkably well preserved heated leather seats, dash, center console, headliner, and carpet all in fabulous original condition. Of course further detailing will better the interior even more, I just don’t have the resources such as a steamer, Pictures will reveal a cigarette burn in the carpet. The previous owner smoked for sometime and recently after purchasing the car quit due to health reasons years ago. The car does not have a smoking odor lingering. Factory floor mats have wondered off at some point in the cars gentle life and have been replaced with Goodyear all-weather mats. This well optioned mark also has the optional moonroof in great working order. The exterior of the car pretty well speaks for itself. As mentioned previously, new Michelin defender tires adorn the recognizable polished mark VIII wheels in great original condition (and yes, they’re facing the right direction ;-)The overall paint condition of the exterior is good (7/10).The front and rear bumpers both bear witness to the typical “old geezer” scuffs and door dings that so many of these cars suffered. I polished much of the paint to remove light scratching and hazing from years of the previous owner wiping the car down with household materials to keep it clean. Heavier cutting and buffing will remove more and undoubtedly reveal further results the new owner will be very happy with. Other exterior notes, the infamous lasagna noodle rear window seal can be seen in the photo and the front windshield will show that it has been replaced under the previous owner due to lose rock on the freeway. Marks in this condition are growing increasingly hard to find and will continue to do so in the years to come. The Mark VIII is a great example of a Radwood era car that did not disappoint. Many more photos are available upon request. Please contact by message and include your email address. ~The car is sold with a clean California title in my name. ~sold as is where is ~reasonable offers will be entertained ~Asking $6,500 OBO. Most of my information used in this write up was complied from personal interaction with the previous owners (my friends) and a CarFax report which is available at your request.
